Sharing information and ideas about the experiences of disabilities from multiple perspectives to enrich our collective understanding and foster equity.

We invite persons with experiences of injury that resulted in biographical disruption to share here. For example, share stories about
-what it means to relearn to live after my injury

Gendlin’s words are aspirational to me.

Eugene Gendlin once said, “I want to start with the most important thing I have to say: The essence of working with another person is to be present as a living being. And that is lucky, because if we had to be smart, or good, or mature, or wise, then we would probably be in trouble. But, what matters is not that. What matters is to be a human being with another human being, to recognize the other person as another being in there.”

I find Gene’s advice deeply comforting and profoundly calming. The way I take in what he said, and the way I live it every day, is: I am enough.

Just as I am, flaws and all, I am enough.

And what is needed, both for my own Focusing (being with me) and for my contacts with other people, is that I am here.

I am here… of course as myself… and I am willing to be here with you.

I am interested in who you are… and I already know that you are someone too. You are someone unique… interesting… to be discovered… just as I am.

Yes!

THE DOJ SAYS MEDICAL DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT MUST BE ACCESSIBLE!!!!!

This is a really big deal. REALLY. BIG.

Summary: On August 9, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) issued a final rule on the accessibility of medical diagnostic equipment (MDE) under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This final rule establishes standards for MDE used by state and local government entities that are consistent with the standards issued by the Access Board on January 9, 2017. The rule adopts a 17 to 19-inch low transfer height for MDE used in the supine, prone, side-lying, and the seated position, although DOJ indicated a willingness to consider future rulemaking in light of the Access Board’s adoption of its final rule on July 25, which set a low transfer height of 17 inches. Entities must meet the new rules by no later than August 9, 2026.

You’ll never have deal with inaccessible equipment again! (Except for when an office is not compliant, which will be often 🤦‍♀️🤣).

When in Thessaloniki, Mourouzis patisserie is the place I get sweets. Best ingredients, excellent quality, caring service, and the most nostalgic design ever. I wish I could bottle the smells
