Lucifer….. a Greaco-roman name forbidden in Germany 🚫🇩🇪 Lucifer in Latin derives from lux (‘light’) and fero (‘to bring’) and means light shining, the morning star and the planet Venus. It also denotes Devil, the fallen angel. That’s why it is not accepted as name for newborns in register offices in Germany. In Greece is accepted though and translated as Fotios or Lucas! Democracy or Republic?

Both democracy and republic meant that the power to govern is held by the people rather than a monarch.The term democracy first appeared in ancient Greek political and philosophical thought in the city-state of Athens during classical antiquity. The word comes from dêmos ‘(common) people’ and krátos ‘force/might’. The greek root remains today in many European languages. What other political terms may have greek roots? Mother, Mutter, μητέρα, madre.. maybe this was the first word out of your mouth when you where little🤱🏼👩‍👦but also such an ancient word which is thought to be derived from the Porto-Indo-european root *mater which also means “mother”. This root is found in many other Indo-European languages.

- γιατί στα αρχαία ελληνικά διατυπώθηκαν κάποιες από τις υψηλότερες ιδέες της ποίησης, της φιλοσοφίας, της ιστορίας, της ιατρικής, των μαθηματικών κ.α. ✅❓❌
-γιατί η νέα ελληνική είναι η «δισεγγονη» της αρχαίας, η εξέλιξη των αττικής διαλέκτου του 4ου αιώνα, και παρουσιάζει πολλές ομοιότητες και διάφορες με τα αρχαία ελληνικά που μελετάμε στο σχολείο. ✅❓❌
