Real people tell real stories 🌿
I almost prevent myself from posting the fun times because I know I'll get a bucket of dumb messages
🙄Colleagues who want to know how I'm doing the fancy thing they think I'm doing
so they can get there too (not the close friend type)
🤦Males who want to comment on some aspect of my figure so they can get my attention (or more)
.. Not to mention those who don't factor in all the crystals I carry, & do not wish me all that well 🤷
So when good things start to happen I feel more prone to shut down & overanalyze which part of the narrative to disclose
.. Which part is real
.. Which part I WANT to disclose or highlight
Unlike many young opera singers I dislike the
"oh here is me with Andrea bocelli" kind of "moments"
And I chose to disclose the real aspects
The small but human stuff
🔹Like being able to stay in a hotel room vs a hostel or icky air bnb room
.. Which I turned into a pigsty 🐽 in 5min after checking in (I work fast)
🔹Or getting to jump in a whirlpool bath wearing a hat that made me look like the gollum
🔹Or witnessing a digital piano land on my pianist's foot during rehearsal 😬😰
🔹& traveling with the cheapest means of transport to be able to afford the trip
🔹 Getting sick due to traveling exhaustion, PMS and the extreme air conditioning
🔹Falling short musically sometimes but also proudly singing every hard phrase despite my burnout, PMS & illness thanks to my vocal training
🔹Smoking for fun & solidarity ✌️
.. Oh yeah.. & experiencing yet again that the fellow singers we're all nurtured to beware of out of competition
