Open-Gov Summer School The 13th International Summer School on Digital Government — OpenGov2026 will be held onsite in Samos, Greece, from 6 July to 10 July 2026.

The scope of the international summer school is to promote education and disseminate knowledge in the area of ICT-enabled governance. The Summer School is being organized by the Information Systems Laboratory, of the Department of Information & Communication Systems Engineering, University of the Aegean, in and is being supported by several European projects and initiatives in the area of electron

ic governance. The topics addressed by the OpenGOV Summer School include a wide span of information and communication technologies and social science issues, covering the whole cycle of decision making under the following thematic areas:
 Big and Open Linked Data applications and technologies
 Big Open Legal Data services and infrastructures
 Machine Learning & Data Mining
 Blockchain in e-government
 Data-intensive decision making
 Personalised Public Services
 Open Government & E-Democracy
 Social media and web 2.0 platforms and services for governance
 Policy modelling and electronic policy deliberation (e-participation)
 Artificial Intelligence tools and techniques
 Smart Cities

The summer school is open to graduate, MSc and PhD students, postdoctoral researchers and practitioners in the areas of Information and Communication Technologies, Management and Social Sciences. Successful candidates must show a promising academic or business track in the scientific areas of the Summer School.

💡 This time in summer school, Ideathon was one of the most important activity of !
Revolving around the challenging aspects of open data sharing and proposing suitable technical mechanisms for these challenge groups, plenty of interesting ideas and solutions were brainstormed and presented by the participating teams.

🎉 Congratulations to all for the effort, collaborative and multidisciplinary work, and a very successful presentation of their results to the summer school audience.
