The Royal Institute Mohamed Ali supports The Social Welfare Center of Eastern Macedonia & Thrace in Kavala, Greece. It is worth mentioning that the first ruler of Modern Egypt, Mohamed Ali Pasha, built the Imaret of Kavala in early 19th century to provide shelter, food and education for children of all denominations. The Imaret was his legacy to support his birthplace in Kavala Greece. Today, although the Imaret has been modified into an exquisite and superb Historical Hotel, HRH Prince Osman Rifat Ibrahim continues his ancestor's tradition in supporting a similar project, namely, the Social Welfare Center of Eastern Macedonia & Thrace in Kavala, Greece.
