Νέα ευρήματα για το γένος Verbascum συμπεριλαμβανομένων του νέου είδους για την επιστήμη Verbascum bolbes από την περιοχή της λίμνης Βόλβης και των νέων υποειδών V. lychnitis subsp. goulimyi και V. undulatum subsp. suffruticosum από τα Όρη Βροντούς και την περιοχή του Κορινθιακού Κόλπου, αντιστοίχως, δημοσιεύτηκαν με την εργασία των Zografidis & al. 2025 με τίτλο “Novelties in the genus Verbascum (Scrophulariaceae) from Greece. Επιπροσθέτως, δυο ποικιλίες του V. longifolium ανήχθησαν σε υποείδη ως V. longifolium subsp. pannosum και V. longifolium subsp. samaritanii, και έγιναν οι δύο νέοι ονοματολογικοί συνδυασμοί V. glandulosum subsp. doiranense και V. macrurum subsp. pannosiforme. Ένα ακόμα ενδιαφέρον εύρημα αφορά τους υποπληθυσμούς φυτών από το Ανατολικό Αιγαίου οι οποίοι είχε θεωρηθεί ότι ανήκουν στο είδος V. pycnostachyum, αλλά όπως οι μελέτες έδειξαν, εντάσσονται στο μορφολογικά συγγενές V. davisianum.
