Today, Anatolia American University is hosting the 1st Interdisciplinary Conference: Bridging Biology and Chemistry, bringing together students, researchers, and faculty to explore the connections between the two fields.

The conference brings together professors and researchers from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the University of Ioannina, Democritus University of Thrace, and Anatolia American University, creating a space for knowledge exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Hosted by the Department of Biological Sciences of the School of Science and Technology, the program features invited talks, student presentations, and poster sessions covering a range of topics across biology, chemistry, biotechnology, medicinal chemistry, and related fields.

Taking place at the Bissell Library, today’s conference highlights the importance of bringing together different scientific perspectives and creating opportunities for students to engage with current research.

The lecture “Greek-Born Adoptees and the Greek State: From Exclusion to Inclusion” is currently taking place at Dinos Christianopoulos Hall, at Central Public Library.

Hosted by The Dukakis Center and Anatolia American University, the event features Professor Gonda Van Steen, who is exploring the history and experiences of Greek-born adoptees and their ongoing efforts for recognition, inclusion, access to records, and citizenship rights.

The discussion includes responses from Aigli Brouskou and Mina Filiopoulou, and is moderated by Dr. Christos Aliprantis.

In an interview with Pontos TV, Dr. Christos Aliprantis, Associate Professor of Political Science and International Relations and Executive Director of the Michael and Kitty Dukakis Center for Public and Humanitarian Service, discusses the upcoming lecture Greek-Born Adoptees and the Greek State: From Exclusion to Inclusion.

The discussion highlights the significance of the topic and the importance of fostering dialogue around identity, belonging, citizenship, and the experiences of Greek-born adoptees.

Dr. Aliprantis additionally highlights the Center’s role in promoting research, public dialogue, civic engagement, and experiential learning, while fostering meaningful connections between academia and society.

As part of Orientation Week at Anatolia American University, our Study Abroad students explored the city of Thessaloniki through a guided tour of its historic landmarks and vibrant neighborhoods.

The tour offered an introduction to the city's rich cultural heritage while helping students become familiar with their new surroundings and connect with fellow participants before the start of the semester.

Anatolia American University welcomes today its Study Abroad students to campus for the Fall Term Orientation.

The orientation introduced students to university life, academic expectations, campus facilities, and the resources available to support their experience. Students also had the opportunity to meet their peers and become familiar with the campus community before the start of classes.

We wish our Fall Term Study Abroad students a successful and rewarding semester in Thessaloniki.

Our students experienced life at Chonnam National University of South Korea, immersing themselves in Korean culture, language, and academic life while discovering a new country and building meaningful international connections.
