🏫 As part of the study visit organised within the EASI project together with Harghita County Council (Hargita Megye Tanácsa), tutors and VET educators came together in Miercurea Ciuc for several days of exchange, institutional visits, and professional dialogue.

🤝 The programme offered participants the opportunity to explore local approaches to vocational education and work-based learning. Visits included the St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Theological High School, the Garden Proiect kft, RIBON Nature Shop , and other regional initiatives, providing valuable insights into educational practices and community engagement.

🚁 A workshop on drones in VET also formed part of the programme, creating space for discussion on innovative tools and emerging technologies that can support teaching, learning, and practical training in vocational education.

🎯 Through these activities, tutors, educators, and partners shared experiences and perspectives aimed at strengthening the assessment and quality of work-based learning for international VET students.

📘 Between 20–25 January 2026, tutors from Slovakia and Hungary took part in a transnational study visit focused on rural innovation, hospitality, and vocational education and training (VET).

🛬 The programme began on Tuesday with the arrival of participants in Budapest and their transfer to Veľké Kapušany, Slovakia, creating space for orientation and initial exchanges.

🏫 On Wednesday, participants visited Pribenik School, where a workshop on rural tourism and guesthouses highlighted how local traditions and gastronomy can be integrated into vocational learning.

🍯 The afternoon featured a visit to local honey producers in Malý Kamenec, showcasing sustainable practices and the integration of local products into the hospitality sector.

🍷 The day concluded in Viničky with a joint dinner and wine tasting, fostering reflection and networking among participants.

🌍 Overall, the study visit highlighted the value of experiential learning, local partnerships, and cross-border cooperation in strengthening VET systems.

Here’s the aftermovie of VETXchange: Expanding the Map – Scaling up Good Practices and Mutual Learning with VET Stakeholders in the Philippines study visits.

In Belgium, Greece, and Hungary, we connected with stakeholders and decision-makers, teachers and students, and visited VET schools and training sites where learning is shaped by real labour market needs.

These exchanges power mutual learning: we identify what works, share good practices that can be adapted elsewhere, and take home fresh ideas to strengthen school–industry links, support educators, and create better pathways for learners.

🌿 After the inspiring discussions, the EASI Innovation Conference took learning beyond the conference room into the field. The second working day of the event was dedicated to experience how innovation and tradition coexist in real-world vocational education. Participants visited local enterprises that are shaping the future of skills through sustainable practices, digitalisation, and collaboration between training and industry.

🏛️ At Grimouras Olive Mill, delegates discovered how a family-run business combines centuries-old olive oil traditions with modern technology and structured training, offering young learners a model for excellence in craftsmanship and sustainability.

🥝 The visit to Kiwi Farm showcased the power of green skills in agri-food production, where sustainability, resource efficiency, and hands-on learning meet. Participants explored how vocational training can prepare the next generation for environmentally responsible innovation.

💡 The final stop at Joist Innovation Park from Larissa revealed how creativity and technology drive the future of learning. Here, participants experienced innovation-driven education in action from digital transformation to cross-sectoral collaboration between educators, entrepreneurs, and tech experts.

✨ These visits tied back to yesterday’s discussions on VET–industry collaboration, skills for the global labour market, and inclusive regional development. They showed that theory and practice go hand in hand and that meaningful partnerships are built not only in conference halls, but also on the ground, where innovation takes root.

🌅 We are proud to be here in Platamonas, the EASI Innovation Conference: SMEs and Tutors in the European VET Landscape, which kickstarted yesterday with a day full of meaningful discussion, shared perspectives, and new partnerships.

💡 The sessions showcased inspiring examples of cooperation between education and business, where participants agreed that while innovation can start in projects, sustainability requires trust, consistent communication, and recognising in-company tutors as key contributors to vocational excellence.

🌍 Later on the day discussions turned toward the evolving demands of the labour market. Digital competence, adaptability, and intercultural skills emerged as the pillars of employability in a rapidly changing economy. Delegates emphasised the importance of preparing learners not only with technical expertise but also with the confidence and flexibility to navigate global workplaces.

🤝 The afternoon on the stakeholders networking forum gathered VET professionals, SME managers, and local representatives to explore how regional cooperation and local innovation can make mobility more inclusive and accessible, meanwhile we learned more about the region of Pieria and regional realities.

The conclusion of the afternoon was that strong partnerships between municipalities, training providers, and businesses create resilient ecosystems for skills development.

✨ With participants from Greece 🇬🇷, Hungary 🇭🇺, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Romania, the discussions reflected a shared vision, proving that collaboration across borders remains the strongest tool for building better vocational systems.

Within the framework of the VETXchange: Expanding the Map initiative, representatives of the consortium visited Technisch Instituut Sint-Vincentius in Torhout to gain a deeper understanding of the Belgian vocational education and training ecosystem.

After insightful days in Greece, the VETXchange consortium continues its journey in Brussels, Belgium, exploring key European institutions that shape education and vocational training policies.

🏛️ The group visited the Parlamentarium, the interactive visitor centre of the European Parliament, learning how democracy and collaboration drive progress in skills development and education across Europe.

🏰 At the House of European History, participants explored Europe’s shared past and values that foster unity, cooperation, and inclusion in education.

The visit offered an inspiring look at how European values guide VET modernisation and global partnerships!
