HMC/ICS Greek Branch is a major provider of professional maritime education and training in Greece and represents the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, the internationally recognised professional body of shipping professionals. The Institute was founded in 1911 and awarded a Royal Charter in 1920. ICS represents shipbrokers, ship managers and agents throughout the world, with 26 branches in key
locations and 4,000 individual Members and Fellows. Hellenic Management Centre is the official educational provider of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers in Greece and provides professional training and education since 1999. HMC provides training, through the ICS Professional Maritime Programme and the ICS Syllabus, which is closely adjusted to the international shipping industry's needs. It is unique in its training approach as candidates are in the position to directly relate and apply the knowledge, skills and expertise gained from the course immediately on their work. On completion of the programme candidates can sit for the Professional Qualifying Examinations leading to ICS Membership, a mark of professionalism and competency in the world of shipping business.
