Metaxart Painting Workshops Take pleasure in painting by joining the MetaxArt Workshops in Kefalonia Island The workshop is open to all artistic levels. The workshops are held for 8 days.

Take pleasure in painting, drawing and synthesis lessons joining the METAXART Summer Painting Workshops in the village of Poros, on the exotic Island of Kefallonia, Greece. Live the experience of the pure light and let your imagination to be motivated by the endless hues of the landscape that provided inspiration to artists for thousands of years by now. Whether you’re a beginner or an accomplishe

d artist, this inspirational 8 day workshop is designed to teach you how to capture the feeling of any scene and transform it in your own unique vision. From beginners wanting to learn the basics, those who have lapsed from their easels over the years to the seasoned professionals and painting lovers looking for idyllic settings and wanting to paint away from their usual surroundings, all are welcome to join the workshop. In the mornings students are working from 9.00 to 13.00 daily mostly in plain air. All the landscape spots are chosen in order each one to give a different painting motivation. This enriches painting abilities with a variety of elements such as depth depiction, transferring to the canvas size huge and chaotic surroundings with simplicity, understanding a stretched tone scale when interacts in the bright and shadowy areas and how harmonic relationship between warm and cool colors and hues create the landscape atmosphere. Every afternoon from 17.00 to 19.00 students can continue working in the studio and participate in art discussions and critique. One evening a lecture on theme “Landscape through Art History” will take place at the studio where artists and their non-painting partners are welcome to follow.

Painting in this place is not about capturing a beautiful landscape.

Under natural light, with the sea and the rock as our constant reference, students work on something deeper:
observing relationships, simplifying forms, and understanding painting as a process, a study towards abstraction.

Even though everyone paints the same place, each work reveals a different way of seeing.
Different rhythms, choices, and sensitivities emerge, turning a shared experience into deeply personal outcomes.

Nature becomes the teacher, not the subject.
