Επιτέλους, ένα παιδικό μπλουζάκι που φτιάχτηκε για να λερώνεται

«Αντίο Καλοκαίρι» Ημερήσιο Camp 🌞 στο Αγρόκτημα του Cob

Στο αγρόκτημα περμακουλτούρας του Cob, στον Νέσσωνα Λάρισας, θα περάσουμε μια εβδομάδα γεμάτη παιχνίδι, εξερεύνηση και δημιουργία, δίνοντας στα παιδιά τον χρόνο και τον χώρο να αποχαιρετήσουν το καλοκαίρι με τον πιο όμορφο τρόπο πριν την επιστροφή στο σχολείο.

Μέσα από τη βιωματική επαφή με το περιβάλλον, τα παιδιά καλλιεργούν την αυτονομία, τη συνεργασία και την εμπιστοσύνη στον εαυτό τους, ενώ συνδέονται ουσιαστικά με τους κύκλους της γης και των εποχών.


Ένα camp που δεν έρχεται να «γεμίσει» απλώς τις τελευταίες μέρες των διακοπών, αλλά να λειτουργήσει σαν μια γέφυρα: από την ανεμελιά του καλοκαιριού στη χαρά μιας νέας σχολικής χρονιάς, με γεμάτες τσέπες από σπόρους, χώμα στα χέρια, νέες φιλίες και όμορφες αναμνήσεις.

Οι μέρες μας κυλούν με φυσικό ρυθμό:

The tadelakt countertop was the last project on our list before the holidays, so we decided to complete the entire process in just one day.

We started at 11 a.m. and finished around 7 p.m., with only a short lunch break and a 30-minute power nap before the final polishing. It was intense, but definitely worth it.
We worked on a cement base, making sure the surface was completely clean before starting. The tadelakt mix was made from lime and sieved marble dust in a 1:2 ratio, with natural earth pigments mixed into water before being added to the plaster.
The first coat was about 2 mm thick, followed by a second coat. Looking back, I think we applied the second layer too soon. During compression with the trowel, the surface started cracking in a few places because the first coat probably hadn’t had enough time to firm up and bond properly with the base. Luckily, we managed to repair most of the cracks while the plaster was still workable.
The final stage was polishing with natural olive soap and a tadelakt stone. This took almost two hours. There isn’t really a secret here. You just keep applying soap, polishing section by section, and working the surface from every direction until it becomes dense, smooth and water resistant.
We also experimented with a small decorative fresco detail using yellow pigment. One part smeared because it wasn’t dry enough, while another blended beautifully into the plaster, almost as if two pigments had been mixed from the beginning.

Working in almost 40°C definitely made things more challenging because lime cures much better when it dries slowly. Even with a few mistakes along the way, I’m really happy with the final result. Every project teaches me something new, and this one made me want to explore tadelakt and other decorative lime finishes even more.

This is how we practice permaculture.

Here are photos from us just revisiting our first full design + implementation project 5 years later, along with photos during a site visit of a new project we’ve taken on.

After back to back designs, we can say with pride that we still work in a way where we create genuine, lasting relationships with our “clients”. Or perhaps, how we see them: land caretakers.
When it comes to our designs, our purpose is always to transform the land to serve the dreams of *both* nature and of the people who are going to inhabit the space.

Here you can see our first ever design and implementation from 2021, where we had put all of our love not just into the design, but also the implementation of the earthworks, agroforestry system, and even the house itself. Then in 2023, a major storm brought devastating floods to the area, and the power of permaculture was put to the test. In this partially affected area, the dam and swales were part of the design’s effectiveness in slowing and directing the water, to accept the silt deposits as the flow made its way from the highest point to the lowest point on the property, benefitting different forms of life as it flowed. Rather than being an element to fear and control, designing with the risk of floods became a challenge to mitigate damage and put into practice climate-resilient design.

We’re grateful for the land caretakers’ resilience in managing their agroforestry systems against conventional agriculture. And it made us very happy to see our earthworks regenerating the landscape, infiltrating tons of water into the soil every year.

In a world that calls for more resilience, let’s look to regenerative design together.

Χρειάζεται λίγο χρόνο για να συνηθίσεις τo broadfork!

Απλώς μοιράζομαστε μερικές φωτογραφίες και βίντεο από ένα εξαιρετικά ενδιαφέρον (και της τελευταίας στιγμής) σεμινάριο για την αναγεννητική γεωργία και την εμπορική λαχανοκηπευτική που πραγματοποιήθηκε στον Πύργο της Πελοποννήσου το περασμένο Σαββατοκύριακο.

Όλα αυτά πραγματοποιήθηκαν χάρη στη συνεργασία με έναν οργανισμό με όραμα που ονομάζεται Olympic Training & Consulting. Αντιλήφθηκαν την ευκαιρία που προσφέρει η αναγεννητική λαχανοκηπευτική ως εξειδικευμένη γεωργική δραστηριότητα για τους Έλληνες μικροκαλλιεργητές και μας προσκάλεσαν να εμπνεύσουμε και να εμπλουτίσουμε τις γνώσεις των πραγματικών αγροτών και γεωπόνων της περιοχής.

Όλοι συμμετείχαν με μεγάλο ενθουσιασμό και χαρά στις δραστηριότητες, οι οποίες είχαν μεγάλο αντίκτυπο και ήταν τόσο θεωρητικές όσο και πρακτικές.

There’s a bit of a learning curve with the broad fork!

Just sharing some photos and videos from a super interesting (and last-minute) seminar on regenerative agriculture and market gardening that took place in Pirgos, Peloponnese last weekend.

It all came together with the collaboration of a visionary organization called Olympic Training & Consulting. They saw the opportunity that regenerative market gardening could be a niche farming activity for Greek small-scale farmers, and invited us to inspire and enhance the knowledge of real farmers and agronomists of the region.

Everybody was super engaged and happy to work through some impactful activities, being both theoretical and hands-on.

Friendly reminder: eco-villages are super beautiful, and so are the people in them.

Last weekend, Christos drove !!!1400 km!!! because he facilitated an incredibly interesting workshop on regenerative agriculture market gardening in the Southern Peloponnese. He took advantage of the rare road trip opportunity visit friends at some beautiful eco projects.

They are proof of what teams, communities, friend can achieve when they deeply believe in a different world.
When systems around us feel like they are letting us down or are fully collapsing, what can we hold on to? When we’re exhausted by a full day’s work, do we rest in the evening knowing we have put our energy towards a more happy and bountiful new reality? What if we, instead of feeling weighed down by the faults and flaws of personal projects, we appreciate their beauty and impact while we are inspired and emulate the strengths of other projects around us?

We think this could be the real revolution. First, joining eco communities and networks, then gaining and sharing skills, all the while, nurturing our relationships and collective knowledge.

Thank you to all of you for existing, and keep trying to improve things with whatever means you have and fighting with your heart to make things better in the world.
