November 17th. 52nd Athens Polytechnic Uprising anniversary.
Latest update: 5 Metro Stations will be closed on Monday November 17th
Due to the march in commemoration of the Polytechnic student uprising against the Junta in 1973, the Metro Stations of Megaro Mousikis, Evagelismos, Syntagma, Panepistimio and Omonia will remain closed by the police from 14:00 until further notice.

More specifically, the stations Neos Kosmos, Agios Ioannis and Dafni will shut at 21:40 - 2.5 hours earlier than usual - on all days between and including Sunday and Thursday.

The last trains before the three stations shut will depart:
- at 21:40 from Syntagma to Elliniko
- at 21:44 from Neos Kosmos to Elliniko
- at 21:51 from Neos Kosmos to Anthoupoli
- at 21:45 from Agios Ioannis to Elliniko
- at 21:50 from Agios Ioannis to Anthoupoli
- at 21:47 from Dafni to Elliniko
- at 21:48 from Dafni to Anthoupoli

FORTHCOMING STRIKES LATEST UPDATE: 13/10/25, @ 20:00
STRIKE OF TUESDAY OCTOBER 14th !!!
So far, the following Unions have announced their participation:

* METRO Blue Line 3 & Red Line 2 : will be running from 09:00 to 17:00

* The Syntagma and Panepistimio Metro Stations will be closed by the police until further notice, with trains passing through these stations without stopping.

* Electric Railways Green Line 1: will be running from 09:00 to 17:00

* the TRAM: will be running from 09:00 to 17:00

* Hellenic Train, National Railways OSE : 24- hour strike
and
* The Suburban Railways (Proastiakos): to/from the Athens Airport included, 24 -hour strike

* Buses: will be running from 09:00 to 21:00
The Trolley Buses: will be running from 09:00 to 21:00

* EXPRESS BUSES (X Buses) TO ATHENS AIRPORT: the express buses to the Athens Airport are also affected, and will be running like the Blue Buses (09:00 to 21:00)

* several Seamen's Unions: 24-hour strike. Ships MAY BE docked. Contact your agency

* GSEE (Private Sector Workers Union): 24- hour strike

* ADEDY (Public Sector Workers Union): 24 - Hour strike
That affects you if you have dealings with: tax offices, court houses, post offices, public schools, state hospital doctors, Citizens' Information Centre (KEP), OAED, etc, or if you are planning to visit a Public-run museum or archaeological site (not all of them), - private museums (NAM, Benaki, will be unaffected.

* POEDIN (Panhellenic Federation of Public Hospital Workers): 24 hour strike

Detailed schedule:

Metro Line 1 (Piraeus – Kifisia):
Stations will open at 9:00 a.m., and the last trains will depart:
• from Kifisia and Piraeus at 16:35,
• from Monastiraki towards Kifisia at 16:51 and towards Piraeus at 17:09,
• from Omonia towards Kifisia at 16:54 and towards Piraeus at 17:07,
• from Attiki towards Kifisia at 16:59 and towards Piraeus at 17:02.

Metro Lines 2 & 3:
Stations will open at 9:00 a.m., and the last trains will depart:
• from Syntagma towards all directions at 17:00,
• from Anthoupoli towards Elliniko at 16:42,
• from Elliniko towards Anthoupoli at 16:39,
• from Dimotiko Theatro towards Doukissis Plakentias at 16:33,
• from Doukissis Plakentias towards Dimotiko Theatro at 16:39,
• from Airport towards Dimotiko Theatro at 16:19,
• from Dimotiko Theatro towards Airport at 15:42.

So far, the following Unions have announced their participation:

* METRO Blue Line 3 & Red Line 2 : will be running from 09:00 to 17:00
* Electric Railways Green Line 1: will be running from 09:00 to 17:00
* the TRAM: will be running from 09:00 to 17:00

* Hellenic Train, National Railways OSE : 24- hour strike
and
* The Suburban Railways (Proastiakos): to/from the Athens Airport included, 24 -hour strike
Part of the Hellenic Train routes, including the routes of the Athens Suburban Train is expected to be done with security staff.

* Buses: will be running from 09:00 to 21:00
* Trolley Buses: will be running from 09:00 to 21:00
Note that traffic is expected to be restored after 10:00 a.m., and vehicles will begin to pull out at (or before) 8:00 p.m.

* EXPRESS BUSES (X Buses) to/from the ATHENS AIRPORT: the express buses to the Athens Airport are also affected, and will be running like the Blue Buses

* TAXIS: 24 hour strike
* PNO (Panhellenic Seamen's Federation): 24-hour strike. All ships will stay docked from 00:01 of Wednesday, to 24:00 of the same day

* GSEE (Private Sector Workers Union): 24- hour strike
* ADEDY (Public Sector Workers Union): 24 - Hour strike
