Celebrating the successful completion of the Training of Trainers!
The training in Budapest brought together partners to learn, collaborate, and exchange ideas on how to bring the Blue Schools approach to life in their local communities.
Through reflection, planning, and the sharing of experiences, participants strengthened their knowledge and developed practical strategies to engage young people in water sustainability, environmental education, and community action.
Equipped with new skills, fresh ideas, and stronger partnerships, the BLUEFRONT consortium is ready to support young people in becoming active advocates for water justice and sustainable futures across Europe.

Learning through real-life experiences!
As part of the Training of Trainers in Budapest, participants stepped beyond the training room to explore how water education comes to life in practice.
During a visit to one of the local Blue Schools supported by Youth Bridges Budapest, partners discovered how water sustainability is integrated into everyday learning and experienced an inspiring educational environment where young people are encouraged to become active environmental citizens.
Participants also had the opportunity to hear from Valyo – Város és a Folyó, whose inspiring presentation showcased creative approaches to community engagement, public spaces, and youth participation around water-related issues.
Combining practical examples with inspiring local initiatives, the experience provided valuable ideas and tools that participants can adapt and bring back to their own communities, strengthening the mission of promoting water justice and sustainability across Europe.

Empowering youth voices for water sustainability!
During the Training of Trainers in Budapest, participants explored advocacy, youth participation, and creative civic engagement, discovering how young people can drive meaningful change for water sustainability.
Together, they examined the difference between advocacy—shaping policies and influencing decision-makers—and campaigning, which mobilises communities around shared goals. Both approaches play a vital role in supporting youth-led Water Roadmaps.
Partners experimented with artivism as a creative tool to amplify youth voices, using artistic expression to raise awareness of local water challenges and inspire community action.
Through the zine-making methodology, participants transformed local water issues into compelling, youth-driven stories by combining storytelling, persona-building, and creative design.
Discussions focused on empowering young people to share their experiences authentically, strengthen their confidence, and engage decision-makers in meaningful dialogue.
By combining creativity, advocacy, and non-formal education, the Training of Trainers equipped partners with practical tools to support young people in becoming active voices for water justice across Europe.

Building the skills to empower the next generation of changemakers!
During the Training of Trainers in Budapest, participants explored the essential role of facilitation, motivation, and youth support in creating impactful Blue Schools.
Together, they reflected on what motivates young people, the difference between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, and how trainers can create safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environments.
Partners shared experiences and tackled the challenges of facilitating youth groups—from managing group dynamics and conflict to encouraging creativity, participation, and collaboration.
Through mentoring activities and non-formal education methods, participants strengthened their ability to guide young people with empathy, trust, and confidence, empowering them to become active leaders in their communities.
The Training of Trainers equipped partners with practical tools to support youth engagement and advance the mission of promoting water justice and sustainability across Europe.

As WATERFRONTS comes to a close, its journey is far from over.

Over the past months, artists, cultural organisations, researchers, policymakers and waterfront communities came together to explore how culture can respond to climate change, strengthen community resilience and address eco-anxiety. Together, we co-created artistic interventions, tested a participatory methodology, developed practical tools and built new collaborations across Europe's waterfronts.

The legacy of WATERFRONTS now lives on through its methodology and toolkit, enabling organisations, artists and communities to adapt and replicate the approach in their own local contexts. The knowledge, partnerships and experiences developed throughout the project provide a strong foundation for future initiatives that place culture at the heart of environmental resilience and community well-being.

To everyone who contributed, participated and supported this journey—thank you. Together, we have shown that culture is not only a way to understand change, but also a powerful force for shaping a more resilient and sustainable future.
