II's research interests reside in the intersection of Human Computer Interaction, Intelligent Systems and Cultural Heritage Management and is seeking interesting ideas via an open and continuous research dialogue across discipli

We are proud to share that George Caridakis, Coordinator of the Intelligent Interaction (ii) Research Group, participated as a speaker at the Science Communication Workshop “Science Odyssey: Research Missions under Starry Skies.” 

In his presentation titled “Digital Media for Science Communication: Putting User Experience at the Center,” Prof. Caridakis highlighted how user-centered design, immersive technologies, and AI-driven systems can transform the way scientific knowledge is communicated to broader audiences. His talk emphasized the critical role of interaction design, accessibility, and experiential engagement in shaping meaningful public understanding of science.

The workshop brought together leading academics, researchers, and institutional representatives to explore best practices in science communication, museum narratives, digital media, and participatory approaches.

Two milestones in one week!
First, we were excited to participate in EuroMed 2025 on 19–22 November, contributing to Thematic Area 2: Artificial Intelligence and Applications in Culture, where our ii team leader Prof. Georgios Caridakis delivered a keynote speech — details here: https://www.euromed-dch.eu/welcome2021/

Secondly, we were thrilled to take part in the SMAP 2025 workshop on 28 November, where we presented our work from the MyTripMyWay! Project, showcasing AI-driven personalization in tourism, together with two new publications from the ii research group. https://smap2025.uniwa.gr/
