Gurdjieff Gathering 2026
August 30 - September 5th

In our search for a path to assist our spiritual growth and the well-being of our inner nature, we often look for change — a way to become better.

In the Gurdjieff Work, the focus is on transformation rather than change.

We are guided to observe all we see in ourselves — neither clinging to nor turning away from what is observed.

This energy of Seeing is the first step on the path of transformation.

All in us is material for the development of Being — Being which aligns with, is an element within, and channels the Greater Being we are each a part of, and which sustains us even when we are unaware of it.

We warmly invite you to join us in Corfu for this shared work.

In our search for a path to assist our spiritual growth and the well-being of our inner nature, we often look for change — a way to become better.

Dear friends,
As we begin a new year, we would like to send you our warmest wishes.

May this year bring you clarity,
may it be lived with greater harmony,
and may you find moments of peace — within yourself and in relationship with the world.

To accompany the beginning of the year, we would like to share with you a guided meditation by Avrom Altman. This meditation was offered in the mornings during the Gathering in Corfu, and many participants experienced it as a quiet and grounding way to enter the day — reconnecting with attention, stillness, and inner presence.

You can listen to the meditation here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzD8FxXTwvA

You may wish to return to it from time to time — as a way to pause, to listen inwardly, and to reconnect with a deeper quality of being. Small, regular moments of inner work can gently shape how we meet life throughout the year.

We also wish to remind you of the dates for the Gurdjieff Gatherings in 2026, for those who may feel drawn to join us or who would like to mark them in their calendar:

Corfu (Buddha Hall) — August 30 to September 5, 2026

More information will be shared in the coming months, allowing time to plan and organize with ease.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me at [email protected]

With gratitude for being part of this wider circle,
and with warm wishes for the year ahead,

Tali Anuk Yeger
on behalf of the Gurdjieff Gathering Team

The Peter Colgrove – Olga de Hartmann collection added to the Archive. September 5, 2025

This collection is from the personal archives of Peter Colgrove, a friend of Olga de Hartmann. He worked with Mme. de Hartmann, Tom Daly, and Tom Forman for many years. There are photographs of Mme. de Hartmann on their travels together and at Nambe, near Santa Fe, New Mexico. Some of the photographs that Peter Colgrove had in his possession belonged to Mme. de Hartmann before she met him.

Photographs of Thomas and Olga de Hartmann, Mme. de Hartmann’s family, Mme. Ouspensky, Mme. de Salzmann, William Segal, and others are included in the collection. The collection was donated by Jan Jarvis who received the materials from Elizabeth St. Lawrence. Some photographs of the Prieuré are also included.

Dear friends,

We would like to share a rare archival video from 1973: John Bennett, one of Gurdjieff’s direct students, speaking at Sherborne about the Gurdjieff Movements.

In it, Bennett describes how the body is not something separate, but the link between inner and outer life — and how the Movements awaken us to the body’s forgotten capacities. The Movements, he says, are not simply exercises, but a means of prayer, expression, and connection to something higher.

🎧 Watch the talk here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTnluEK7hWo

Avrom Altman, who will be leading our Gathering in Corfu this October, also appears in this video. Avrom was a student of John Bennett, and has carried forward this living lineage for more than fifty years. His presence and guidance in the Movements come directly out of this transmission.

The Gathering this year offers an opportunity to experience this same sacred language — through movement, music, and shared silence. It is a space to:

– Touch a deeper inner awareness and stillness
– Encounter sacred energy through precise form
– Join a community of committed seekers
– Open to another center of gravity within ourselves

There are still places available, you are welcome to join us!

Gurdjieff Gathering 2025, Movements and Inner Work with Avrom Altman
Buddha Hall, Corfu, Greece, October 19 – 25, 2025

Dear friends,

As the Gurdjieff Gathering in Corfu draws nearer, we wanted to reach out with a quiet reminder — and a request.

If you’ve already registered or decided to come, we’re deeply grateful to share this sacred space with you.

If you’re still considering, there are still places available.

And if you’re not able to join us this year — but feel connected to this Work — one meaningful way to support it is simply to share this invitation with someone who may be called. A friend, a student, a fellow seeker. Often, it is through such personal gestures that the right people arrive.

You can watch this video where Avrom speaks about the Movements as a language of inner alignment and deeper being:

We welcome all those who feel called.
