The Rector of the University of Thessaly, Professor Charalambos Billinis, warmly welcomes the University's new students, congratulating them on their success and wishing them a rewarding and inspiring academic journey.
In his welcome message, the Rector of the University states:
« Dear new students, with great pleasure, I welcome you to the academic community of the University of Thessaly. Your admission to the University is an important personal achievement and marks the beginning of a new path in your life. It is the result of effort, perseverance, and dedication to a goal that becomes reality today. Warm congratulations to you, and also to your families, your teachers, and the people who supported you along this journey.
With the announcement of the admission marks, a new chapter has opened for you, one that will soon bring you into the academic community of the University of Thessaly, the third-largest public institution in Greece, with a strong presence in education, research, innovation, internationalization, and its connection with society. The University of Thessaly, with Schools and Departments in Volos, Larissa, Trikala, Karditsa, and Lamia, is a living, multi-center academic organization—open to knowledge, cooperation, and the major challenges of our time.
The student life that begins ahead of you is not limited to attending courses and earning a degree. It is a period of knowledge, research, critical thinking, creativity, personal growth, and social participation. I encourage you to make the most of every opportunity that will be offered to you: to participate actively in your studies, in laboratories, in research activities, and in the University’s cultural, sports, and volunteer initiatives.
A special place in this path is held by the student groups of the University of Thessaly, which connect knowledge with practice, scientific training with creativity, and collaboration with distinction. Through these groups, students gain valuable experience, develop skills, participate in innovative initiatives, and represent the University in activities and competitions in Greece and abroad.
Adapting to student life may come with challenges. Your Professors, the Department secretariats, the student welfare services, and the entire University community are here to support you in your first steps and throughout your studies.
For all enrollment and procedural matters, please follow systematically the website of the University of Thessaly and the announcements of the Department to which you have been admitted. There, all the necessary instructions, information, and deadlines will be posted.
Dear students, I wish you a good start, health, progress, and a creative, fruitful, and unforgettable student journey. Keep alive your curiosity, your eagerness to learn, your critical thinking, and your belief in your potential.
Welcome to the University of Thessaly
