🛫The aviation industry is facing a growing contradiction: 🤔Airlines need more pilots than ever before, but training capacity is struggling to keep pace. Fleet expansion, retirements and rising global demand are increasing pressure across the entire pilot training ecosystem, making infrastructure, instructor availability and operational scalability more critical than ever. Because the real challenge is no longer only pilot demand. It is whether the industry can train enough airline-ready pilots at the right standard and at the right pace. ✈️ We explore why this gap matters, and what flight training organisations must do to close it. 👏A true Egnatia Aviation success story comes full circle. Every pilot’s journey begins with a dream, but it takes dedication, resilience, and the right training environment to turn that dream into a career. For George Bisdikis, that journey began at Egnatia Aviation, where he completed his Frozen ATPL(A) training in 2008. From there, he entered the airline world as a First Officer, steadily building his experience, discipline, and leadership in the cockpit, eventually becoming a Captain and bringing over 9,500 total flight hours, including 5,000 hours as an A320 Pilot in Command. His path tells the story of real professional growth:
📍2008 ➡️ Frozen ATPL(A) | Egnatia Aviation
📍2010 ➡️ First Officer | Astra Airlines
📍2011 ➡️ First Officer | Aegean Airlines
📍2017 ➡️ Command Upgrade and promotion to Captain A320
📍2017 – 2021 ➡️ Captain A320 | Aegean Airlines & Ellinair
📍2022 – 2026 ➡️ Captain A320 | Flynas
📍2026 – Today ➡️ TKI | Egnatia Aviation
Today, this journey comes full circle. George is back at Egnatia Aviation, joining our TKI team to transfer not only his technical knowledge, but also his valuable airline experience, operational mindset, and passion for aviation to the next generation of cadets. This is more than a professional return. It is a powerful reminder of what Egnatia Aviation stands for: training pilots who go on to build successful airline careers, lead from the left seat, and return one day to inspire those who are just beginning their own journey. For our cadets, George is proof that the path from classroom to cockpit, from student pilot to airline Captain, is real, and it can begin right here. Welcome back, Captain George Bisdikis. Your success story continues where it first began. ✈️ Words cannot describe how proud and happy we are to have you back with us. Ready to join us?
