🌍🇬🇷 Erasmus+ Beyond the Classroom | Educational Visit to the American Farm School in Thessaloniki 🌱🐝🍇

Learning through experience is one of the most valuable aspects of Erasmus+ mobility programmes!

As part of their educational and cultural activities in Greece, students and accompanying teachers from four European schools had the opportunity to visit the American Farm School in Thessaloniki, discovering the fascinating world of agriculture, food production, sustainability and traditional Greek practices.

🧀 A Taste of Greek Tradition – Hands-on Cheese-Making Workshop

The Croatian group participated in a special hands-on workshop dedicated to the preparation of Tyrozouli (Τυροζούλι), a traditional Cretan cheese. Through this unique experience, students explored traditional Greek cheese-making techniques, gaining practical knowledge of local food production and discovering an important part of Greece's culinary heritage.

The Croatian participants also explored the school's facilities and learned about w**e and honey production, gaining valuable insights into agricultural practices and the connection between traditional methods and modern food production.

🌿 Exploring Agricultural Education and Production

The three Romanian groups enjoyed an educational tour of the American Farm School, discovering its facilities and the different aspects of agricultural education.

During their visit, students had the opportunity to:

🤝 A Warm Welcome at Platon School!

The mobility began with an official welcome meeting at Platon School, where the Bulgarian students and their accompanying teachers were warmly welcomed by representatives of the hosting organisation.

During their first visit, participants were introduced to the school's educational approach, teaching staff and learning environment. A guided tour of the school facilities gave them the opportunity to explore the classrooms, discover the different learning spaces and become familiar with everyday school life in Greece.

The welcome activities also provided a wonderful opportunity for the Bulgarian students to meet their Greek peers, exchange first impressions and begin building new international friendships! 🇧🇬🤝🇬🇷

📚 Learning Together Through Educational Activities!

Throughout their first week, the Bulgarian students participated in a variety of interactive lessons, creative workshops and collaborative activities alongside Greek students at Platon School.

🥗 Greek Cuisine – Traditional Greek Salad: Discovering the ingredients, flavours and traditions of Greek gastronomy through a practical activity dedicated to preparing one of Greece's most famous traditional dishes.

♟️ Chess Lessons: Developing strategic thinking, concentration and problem-solving skills through chess activities.

💙 Empathy Lesson: Exploring the importance of understanding others, respecting different perspectives and building positive relationships through meaningful discussions and interactive activities.

🏛️ Greek Mythology: Discovering the fascinating world of ancient Greek gods, heroes and myths, while learning about Greece's rich cultural heritage.

🇬🇷 Greek Alphabet & Greek Language: Becoming familiar with the Greek alphabet, learning basic Greek words and expressions, and taking their first steps in communicating in a new language.

🤖 Robotics Class: Exploring technology, creativity and innovation through interactive robotics activities that encouraged logical thinking, teamwork and problem-solving.

💃 Traditional Greek Dances: Discovering Greek music and traditions through dance lessons, learning traditional steps and experiencing an important part of Greek cultural identity.

🏃 Outdoor Games with Greek Students: Participating in fun outdoor activities and traditional games together with their Greek peers, promoting teamwork, communication and friendship in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.

These educational experiences encouraged active participation, intercultural communication and collaborative learning, allowing students from both countries to share knowledge, develop new skills and learn from one another.

🏛️ Discovering Greece Beyond the Classroom! 🇬🇷✨

Beyond their educational activities at Platon School, the Bulgarian participants also had the opportunity to explore the cultural, historical and natural beauty of Greece through afternoon excursions.

🏔️ Mount Olympus & Litochoro – Discovering the legendary home of the ancient Greek gods, exploring the beautiful natural landscapes of Pieria and experiencing the unique atmosphere of Litochoro, located at the foot of Mount Olympus.

⛪ Monastery of Saint Dionysios of Olympus – Learning about the religious traditions and historical heritage of the region while visiting one of the area's important spiritual landmarks.

⛪ Monastery of Saint Ephraim – Discovering another significant part of Greece's Orthodox religious and cultural heritage.

🏙️ Thessaloniki – Exploring the history, impressive monuments and vibrant atmosphere of Greece's second-largest city, while discovering aspects of Greek culture and everyday life.

These cultural excursions offered participants the opportunity to broaden their horizons, experience Greece's rich heritage and complement their educational activities with unforgettable experiences beyond the classroom! 🌍💙

💙 Building Friendships Across Borders!

The first week of this Erasmus+ mobility has already been filled with valuable learning experiences, cultural discoveries and meaningful interactions between Bulgarian and Greek students.

Through language lessons, mythology, robotics, music, dance, outdoor games and shared classroom activities, participants are not only developing new knowledge and skills but also strengthening their confidence, creativity, teamwork and intercultural understanding.

Pro European Education is delighted to welcome a group of 13 participants from the Hospitality and Tourism School Zagreb, Croatia, for an Erasmus+ Vocational Education and Training (VET) mobility in Katerini, Greece!

The mobility programme includes two different flows:

🔹 Flow 1 – Job Shadowing (11–19 October 2026): 2 VET teachers participating in job-shadowing activities, exchanging professional experiences and exploring teaching practices in vocational education.

🔹 Flow 2 – VET Student Mobility (11–25 October 2026): 10 students and 1 accompanying teacher, with practical training activities taking place from 12 to 23 October.

The participating students specialise in cookery (6 students), waiter service (1 student) and technical fields (3 students).

🤝 A Warm Welcome to Greece!

The mobility began with a welcome meeting organised by Pro European Education, during which participants were introduced to their training programme, received practical information about their stay in Greece and became familiar with the educational and professional environment they would experience throughout their mobility.

👨‍🍳 Discovering Greek Gastronomy Through Practical Learning!

During their first week, the Croatian participants visited the Laboratory Center of Vocational Schools of Katerini, where they had the opportunity to discover Greek culinary traditions through hands-on learning experiences.

🫑 Day 1 – Traditional Greek Stuffed Peppers

Participants explored the preparation of traditional Greek stuffed peppers, working with local ingredients, discovering authentic flavours and learning cooking techniques that are part of Greece's rich gastronomic heritage.

🍯 Day 2 – Traditional Greek Halvas

The culinary journey continued with the preparation of halvas, a beloved traditional Greek dessert. Through this practical activity, participants became familiar with another aspect of Greek gastronomy and its connection to local traditions.

🌿 Exploring Mediterranean Cuisine

Alongside the practical cooking sessions, participants attended an educational workshop dedicated to Mediterranean Cuisine, discovering the diversity of Mediterranean food traditions, the importance of local ingredients and the culinary heritage shared by countries across the region.

🌍 International Learning & Cultural Exchange

One of the highlights of the week was the opportunity to meet and interact with students and teachers from a Bulgarian school in Sofia, who were also participating in educational activities in Katerini.

Through shared learning experiences, discussions and cultural exchange, the Croatian and Bulgarian participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas, discover different perspectives and build new international friendships. 🇭🇷🇧🇬🇬🇷

From 12 to 16 October 2026, Pro European Education had the pleasure of welcoming a group of students and teachers from Romania for an Erasmus+ School Education mobility in Katerini, Greece!

📚 Learning Together at the 4th Gymnasium of Katerini

The hosting school for this mobility was the 4th Gymnasium of Katerini, where the Romanian students and teachers spent the week participating in educational activities, interacting with their Greek peers and experiencing everyday school life in Greece.

Throughout the mobility, participants enjoyed a variety of educational and intercultural activities:

🇬🇷 Attended a presentation about the history of the 4th Gymnasium of Katerini and became familiar with the Greek educational environment.

📖 Participated in lessons on the Greek language and ancient Greek history, discovering important aspects of Greek culture, language and historical heritage.

🎶 Took part in a Greek music lesson, learning to sing famous Greek songs by renowned Greek composers.

🤝 Played traditional games together with Greek students, encouraging teamwork, communication and intercultural friendships.

🎤 The Romanian students also had the opportunity to introduce themselves and deliver presentations about their schools and hometowns, sharing their own culture and traditions with their Greek peers.

🇬🇷 One particularly special experience was watching the school's parade rehearsal for 16 October, the Liberation Day of Katerini, giving the visitors an insight into an important local historical celebration.

The educational programme was complemented by afternoon cultural excursions, allowing participants to explore some of Greece's most remarkable natural, historical and religious destinations.

💙 Building Bridges Through Education

This Erasmus+ mobility was a wonderful opportunity for students and teachers from Romania and Greece to exchange knowledge, discover different educational approaches, develop intercultural skills and build meaningful connections.

Through shared lessons, music, traditional games, cultural visits and everyday interaction, participants experienced the true spirit of Erasmus+: learning together, celebrating diversity and strengthening European cooperation! 🌍🤝

🇪🇺🇷🇴🇬🇷 Erasmus+ VET Mobility in Greece | Learning Through Practice, Education & Cultural Exchange! 🌍✨

We are delighted to welcome a group of 15 students and their accompanying staff from Liceul Tehnologic Nr. 1 Mărăcineni, Romania, to Greece for their Erasmus+ Vocational Education and Training (VET) mobility, taking place from 5 to 16 October 2026, in cooperation with Pro European Education!

The participating students are specialising in two vocational fields:

🔬 Food Industry Qualification – Food Product Analysis Technician (8 students)

🌱 Agriculture Qualification – Plant Protection Technician (7 students)

During the first week of their mobility, the students have already had the opportunity to combine hands-on vocational training, educational visits, cultural discovery and meaningful intercultural experiences!

🌿 Learning by Doing – Practical Training

As part of their vocational training, the students participated in agricultural activities that allowed them to gain valuable practical experience in a real working environment.

🌰 Walnut Harvesting – The students spent a day in an agricultural field, participating in walnut collection and gaining first-hand experience of agricultural production and harvesting practices.

🌸 Greenhouse Experience – During another practical training activity, the students visited a greenhouse, where they observed a wide variety of flowers and plants, explored cultivation practices and even took part in pruning olive trees, developing their practical agricultural skills.

🏫 Study Visit to EPAL 1 – Vocational Education in Greece

On 8 October, the group visited EPAL 1, a Greek Technical Vocational High School, where they explored the school's educational facilities, laboratories and workshops.

The visit offered students an opportunity to discover how vocational education and practical training are organised in Greece, exchange experiences with their Greek peers and explore similarities and differences between the Romanian and Greek educational systems.

🤝 Community Engagement & Volunteering

The educational programme continued with visits to two local organisations, introducing students to the importance of social responsibility, volunteering and community involvement.

🏛️ Kapniko Stathmo – The students discovered a local social and cultural centre that supports community initiatives, encourages social interaction and promotes cultural activities.

💙 O Topos Mou – During their visit to this non-governmental organisation, the students learned about its activities and contribution to the local community. They also had the opportunity to meet and interact with volunteers, exchanging experiences and discovering the value of active citizenship and social engagement.

🏔️ Discovering the Cultural Heritage of Greece

Beyond vocational training, the students have already begun exploring the rich cultural and natural heritage of Pieria!

Their first cultural excursion included:

⛰️ Mount Olympus – Discovering the legendary mountain of the ancient Greek gods and its breathtaking natural surroundings.

⛪ Monastery of Saint Dionysios of Olympus – Exploring an important landmark of the region's religious and historical heritage.

⛪ Monastery of Saint Ephraim in Pieria – Learning more about Greek Orthodox traditions and the spiritual heritage of the area.

✨ And this is only the beginning!

With the first week of their Erasmus+ mobility still underway, the students have many more experiences ahead of them! Their practical training will continue in the coming days, alongside further cultural excursions and educational activities designed to enrich their professional knowledge, strengthen their intercultural skills and create lasting memories.

Erasmus+ VET | Preparatory Visit in Greece – Building the Foundations for a Successful Mobility! 🚗🔧

From 4 to 6 October 2026, we had the pleasure of welcoming two teachers from Romania to Greece for a three-day Erasmus+ Preparatory Visit in the field of Vocational Education and Training (VET), coordinated by Pro European Education.

📌 Project Number: 2026-1-RO01-KA121-VET000432103

The visit focused on the field of Automotive Mechanics, aiming to prepare and coordinate the upcoming Erasmus+ VET mobility and ensure a valuable practical learning experience for the participating students.

🤝 During their stay, the teachers met with representatives of the Laboratory Center of Vocational Schools of Katerini, which will serve as the hosting educational organisation for the upcoming mobility. Together, they discussed the educational objectives, practical training activities and overall organisation of the programme.

🚘 As part of the preparatory visit, the teachers also visited local businesses specialising in the automotive sector, including:

🔹 MG Dealership in Katerini

🔹 Koutsimanis Georgios – Automotive Repair Workshop

These visits provided an excellent opportunity to explore the local professional environment, discuss potential practical training opportunities and gain insight into the facilities and working conditions of the automotive industry in Greece.

🏨 In addition, the teachers inspected the accommodation and meal facilities and worked closely with our team to finalise the details of the students' internships, daily schedule and cultural programme, ensuring that all aspects of the upcoming mobility are carefully planned.

Erasmus+ Mobility | Learning, Culture & Discovery in Greece

From 20 September to 5 October 2026, we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of 12 students and 2 accompanying teachers from Endrődi Sándor Református Általános Iskola, Kézilabda – Utánpótlásközpont és Alapfokú Művészeti Iskola, Alsóörs, Hungary, for their Erasmus+ mobility experience in Greece. 🌍💙

During their two-week stay, the students followed their educational programme daily at Platon School, their hosting school in Katerini. Through their participation in school life and interaction with Greek students and teachers, they had the opportunity to experience a different educational environment, develop their communication and social skills, and strengthen intercultural understanding and European cooperation. 🇪🇺📚

But Erasmus+ learning goes far beyond the classroom! ✨

Alongside their daily school activities, the group followed a rich cultural and educational programme, discovering some of the most beautiful and important destinations in Northern Greece:

🏔️ Mount Olympus & Litochoro – exploring the legendary home of the ancient Greek gods and discovering the natural beauty of the Olympus region

⛪ Monastery of Saint Dionysios of Olympus – learning about the religious, historical and cultural heritage of the area

⛪ Monastery of Saint Ephraim in Pieria – experiencing another important part of Greek Orthodox tradition and local culture

🏛️ Dion Archaeological Park & Museum – discovering the fascinating ancient history of Pieria at one of the region’s most significant archaeological sites

🏘️ Palaios Panteleimonas – exploring the traditional architecture and unique atmosphere of this historic mountain village

🏙️ Thessaloniki – discovering the history, monuments and vibrant atmosphere of Greece’s second-largest city

⛰️ Meteora – visiting one of Greece’s most impressive cultural and religious destinations, where extraordinary landscapes, history and centuries-old monasteries come together

🏝️ Skiathos – enjoying the beauty of one of Greece’s most picturesque islands and experiencing another side of Greek culture and landscape

💦 Edessa & Pozar Thermal Baths – discovering the famous waterfalls of Edessa and the impressive natural thermal springs of Pozar

Throughout their stay, the students had the opportunity to combine education, culture, history, nature and international friendship, while experiencing everyday life in Greece and creating memories together with their classmates and teachers. 💙

At Pro European Education, we are happy to support Erasmus+ mobilities that offer young people the opportunity not only to learn in a different educational environment, but also to discover a new country, connect with another culture and grow through new experiences.

🎓 To celebrate the successful completion of their Erasmus+ mobility, we also held a Certificate Ceremony, where all students and accompanying teachers received their certificates, marking the end of two weeks filled with learning, cultural discovery, new experiences and unforgettable memories in Greece. 🇪🇺✨
