🎉 GREAT NEWS! FOOTT STEPS has been APPROVED! 🎉

We are delighted to announce that our new Erasmus+ project, FOOTT STEPS, has received approval! Coordinated by Bezirksregierung Arnsberg (Germany), this project is the natural continuation of FOOTT PRINTTS—taking the next step in transforming teacher professional development across Europe.

While FOOTT PRINTTS developed a comprehensive six-factor framework for high-quality in-service teacher training, FOOTT STEPS will bring this framework to life:

✅ Validating the framework across diverse European contexts
✅ Building a searchable CPD Scenario Repository with practical, ready-to-use training designs
✅ Delivering a Train-the-Trainer programme so that teacher trainers everywhere can apply the framework with confidence
✅ Creating a sustainable community of practice that connects trainers across borders

At a time when TALIS data reminds us how urgently teachers need meaningful, well-designed professional development, we are proud to move from framework-as-theory to framework-as-practice.

Educom+ is honoured to continue this journey alongside our wonderful European partners. Here's to the next steps—the FOOTT STEPS! 👣

On 7–8 July 2026, the Educom+ team travelled to Bucharest for the final transnational meeting of the Erasmus+ project "SmartEd – AI Integration in Schools" (2024-1-LT01-KA220-SCH-000244021), wonderfully hosted by our Romanian partner, Asociația pentru Educație și Formare – ASEF.

Over two intensive days, partners from all seven countries — Lithuania (coordinator), Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Turkey and Romania — reviewed the project's final results and shaped a common strategy to keep the SmartEd digital resources alive and growing long after the project's end. 🌱

👉 SmartEd set out to bring Artificial Intelligence into European classrooms in a responsible, inclusive way: equipping teachers with the skills to integrate AI into their lesson design and offering adaptive learning tools for diverse learners, especially students with special educational needs.

🎯Two years later, with three complete sets of educational resources, the SmartEd AI Learning Platform and hundreds of teachers reached across Europe—including the 51 educators, school leaders and advisors who joined our Greek multiplier event in June—we can proudly say this goal has been achieved. 💙

A heartfelt thank you to ASEF and its President, Mihaela Cojocaru, for their warm hospitality in Bucharest; to our Lithuanian coordinator; and to all partners for two years of genuine collaboration. Endings like this one are really beginnings: the future of education is bright, inclusive and future-ready! ✨

Supporting "Aephoric Poetry 2026 — Message in a Bottle" 🌊

At Educom+, we are always glad to see creative initiatives that bring the English language, poetry and young voices together—and this one is growing beyond borders.
The Aephoric Poetry 2026 action, organised by MM Education Center—English Language School, Maria Michael (Karditsa), invites students aged 8 to 18 from any school, in any country, to write a poem in English on the theme "Message in a Bottle." The submission deadline has just been extended to November 10th, 2026 and the action will culminate in a hybrid award ceremony in Karditsa, along with the presentation of the first Aephoric Poetry e-Book.
We warmly encourage the schools and educators in our network to take part.
📩 Poems are submitted to: [email protected]

At Educom+, one of the things we value most in our Erasmus+ partnerships is when a project produces tools that continue to work long after the final report is submitted.

The FOOTT PRINTTS Trainer Companion Card is one of those tools. Co-authored by our President, Georgia-Konstantia Karagianni, together with Anna Kapsalis, the Card translates the six FOOTT PRINTTS factors — Professional Identity, CPD Satisfaction, Professional Support, School Development & Participation, Organisation & Delivery, and CPD Design Elements — into a single-page planning and reflection tool for anyone leading teacher training sessions.

Three questions per factor. Before the session, during it, after it. A complete quality cycle on one page.

But we think it carries a second function worth naming: it can serve as a quality framework for selecting and evaluating CPD under Erasmus+ KA1 mobility funding. Which training providers genuinely address teachers' professional identity? Which courses build in structured peer interaction and active creation, not just passive input? Which connects individual learning to school development?

The Card offers a principled set of criteria — grounded in research across seven European countries and validated through the FOOTT PRINTTS project — to answer exactly those questions, both before and after a KA1 mobility experience.

The Card and the full Guidebook are freely available at foottprintts.eu. We warmly invite colleagues working in teacher training and Erasmus+ coordination to explore them and share their experience with us.

Back from Vienna and the International Conference "Facing Global Challenges in Education through Lifelong Learning", hosted by the University College of Teacher Education Vienna (PH Wien), in the Hedy Lamarr Hall (26–28 May 2026).

Together with the Head of the Directorate of Studies of the Greek Ministry of Education (ΥΠΑΙΘΑ), Andreas Nigiannis; the Regional Supervisor of Western Greece, Athanasia Balomenou; and the Quality Supervisor of the Directorate of Primary Education of Trikala, Vassilios Kotoulas, we travelled to Vienna and took part in the conference as members of the research team of the European project FOOTT PRINTTS — and as representatives of Educom+, a partner in the project. The project is coordinated by BR Arnsberg (Germany), which oversees and supports the professional development of 40,000 teachers.

🎯🎯 Two keynote talks set the tone for the entire event. Chrissi Nerantzi (University of Leeds) opened the conference with "Facts, Fairytales and Freedoms: Professional Learning for Educators", inviting us to see the pressures teachers face as opportunities rather than obstacles. On the second day, Cormac Noonan (Wolf Academy) presented "A Rooted Wellbeing Framework: Strengthening Teacher Well-Being in a Changing World" — an ever-timely reminder that teacher well-being and sound mental health are a foundation for everything we do, not a side issue.

Between the keynotes, many engaging workshops, parallel sessions and poster presentations took place — from artificial intelligence in teacher education to school development, professional identity, inclusion, resilience, and the mental health of both students and teachers.

What stayed with me most, though, was how seriously the conference treated networking as an integral part of empowering teachers, rather than a mere coffee break. From the get-together evening before the official opening to the wonderful closing with live music from the university's band, there was real space for professional dialogue among education professionals from different countries and systems — and that is exactly where good practice begins to "travel".

👉 One of the most creative moments for me was the workshop I led with Anna Kapsalis, trainer at BR Arnsberg (Germany). Together we took the Trainer Companion Card — the reflection tool that accompanies the project's Guidebook, which we co-authored — and explored how to turn it into a Trainee Companion Card: shifting it from a trainer's self-reflection instrument into a learning tool placed in the hands of the learners themselves. Built around the six factors that make professional development meaningful (professional identity, satisfaction, peer support, school development, organisation and hands-on design), the Card took on new life when we redesigned it from the learner's perspective.
👉 Both tools are freely available here:

Special thanks to Diana Pastoriza for hosting the event in such a wonderful way and to our Austrian partners at PH Wien (University College of Teacher Education Vienna) for hosting us throughout the conference. Warm thanks, too, to all the FOOTT PRINTTS partners and to Dirk Kolar, head of BR Arnsberg and Anna Kapsalis, coordinators of the FOOTT PRINTTS project, as well as to everyone who made these days so rich! 🙏

20 video lessons on the Adaptation of AI Tools for Special Educational Needs are now freely accessible to teachers across Europe — and Educom+ played a central role in making this happen.

👉What is Module 3 about?
Module 3 is a complete, structured learning path for educators who want to use AI meaningfully and ethically in inclusive classrooms. The 20 videos are organized around real teaching challenges and cover:
🎯 Foundation (Videos 1–3) — Introduction to AI for SEN, Universal Design for Learning, and a taxonomy of AI tool categories
📖 Reading Difficulties (Videos 4–5) — Text-to-speech tools and visual support strategies
✍️ Writing Difficulties (Videos 6–7) — Speech-to-text tools and AI writing assistants
💬 Communication (Videos 8–10) — AAC systems: introduction, implementation, and multilingual/translation tools
🧠 ADHD Support (Videos 11–13) — Organization tools, focus strategies, and AI-assisted task breakdown
👁️ Sensory Impairments (Videos 14–16) — Visual impairments, hearing impairments, and multimodal learning
🌟 Autism Spectrum (Videos 17–18) — Structure & predictability tools and social-emotional learning support
🏫 Implementation & Ethics (Videos 19–20) — Classroom strategies and a thoughtful look at ethics, data privacy, and the future of AI in special education

👉Why this matters
Behind each video is a carefully crafted script designed to speak directly to teachers – with clarity, warmth and practical guidance they can apply from the very next lesson. Each module runs approximately 5–6 minutes and is formatted for accessibility and professional delivery.
This work sits at the intersection of inclusive education, digital pedagogy, and teacher professional development — values that define Educom+'s mission since its founding.

Earlier this afternoon, Karditsa hosted something that had been in the making for a long time.
✨The Multiplier Event of Youth's Creative Voice is now complete — and with it, the official presentation of the Multi Minds Literacy Toolbox, the toolkit we built to give every young person's creativity a voice. It was an afternoon full of meaning, held at the wonderful hotel 'Arni'' in Karditsa — a gathering of people who believe that education can be so much more than the transfer of knowledge.
Thank you to everyone who was there! Your presence made all the difference. 💛🌍
