Applications are open for 11 fully funded PhD positions within the nEXt-RNA Doctoral Network, a Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) project focused on advancing research into extracellular RNA (exRNA) communication in host-pathogen interactions.

The program brings together research institutions across several European countries and offers early-stage researchers an opportunity to undertake interdisciplinary doctoral research while participating in an international program of training, mentoring, secondments, workshops and conferences.

This academic year, the University of Crete invites international students, Erasmus+ students, researchers, and anyone passionate about languages and culture to discover Modern Greek through our Beginner Course (CEFR A1–A2) in Heraklion (Voutes Campus).

📚 Course highlights
✅ Beginner level (A1–A2)

✅ Classes twice a week (6 hours total)

📖 **"Greece and China: Between Conflict and Harmony"**

As part of the **University of Crete Press** book series *China – History and Civilization*, a discussion was held exploring the relationship between Greek and Chinese civilization.

Chloe Balla, Professor of Ancient Philosophy at the University of Crete, was joined in conversation by Pantelis Golitsis, Associate Professor of Ancient and Medieval Philosophy at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki; Stefano Gandolfo, Director of Columbia Global Center Athens; and Anna Baka, Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Charles University in Prague.

The event took place on **Saturday, June 27, 2026**, at the Grand Arsenal.

**Co-organized by:** University of Crete Press and the Center for Ancient Greek and Chinese Civilizations (KELKIP).

The Chania Book Festival is organized by the Municipality of Chania in collaboration with the Region of Crete. It is recognized as one of Greece's leading literary events, firmly establishing Chania as a vibrant destination on both the national and international cultural map.
