Το Helicopter Stories® ζωντανεύει τις ιστορίες των ίδιων των παιδιών μέσα από την αφήγηση και τη δραματοποίηση, υποστηρίζοντας τη γλωσσική ανάπτυξη, τον πρώιμο γραμματισμό, την αυτοπεποίθηση, τη δημιουργικότητα, την επικοινωνία, τη συνεργασία, τη συμπερίληψη και το αίσθημα του ανήκειν.

Η προσέγγιση απευθύνεται σε εκπαιδευτικούς και επαγγελματίες που εργάζονται με παιδιά ηλικίας 2–7 ετών σε ελληνόφωνα, αγγλόφωνα, δίγλωσσα ή πολύγλωσσα εκπαιδευτικά περιβάλλοντα, όπως:

✓ Παιδαγωγούς Πρώιμης και Προσχολικής Ηλικίας

✓ Νηπιαγωγούς — ΠΕ60

✓ Εκπαιδευτικούς Α΄ και Β΄ Δημοτικού — ΠΕ70

✓ Εκπαιδευτικούς Αγγλικής Γλώσσας — ΠΕ06

✓ Εκπαιδευτικούς Ειδικής Αγωγής και Συμπερίληψης — SEND

✓ Θεατρολόγους και εμψυχωτές Θεατρικού Παιχνιδιού — ΠΕ91

✓ Λογοθεραπευτές και επαγγελματίες που υποστηρίζουν την ανάπτυξη του λόγου, της γλώσσας και της επικοινωνίας

✓ Ιδιοκτήτες σχολείων, διευθυντές και παιδαγωγικούς συντονιστές

Δεν απαιτείται εξειδικευμένος εξοπλισμός ούτε υπάρχει επιπλέον κόστος εφαρμογής για τα σχολεία. Μετά την εκπαίδευση, οι συμμετέχοντες μπορούν να αρχίσουν να χρησιμοποιούν την προσέγγιση αμέσως, στον χώρο τους, μέσα στην τάξη, στον κήπο ή ακόμη και στο δάσος.

Η ευέλικτη και συμπεριληπτική φύση της προσέγγισης επιτρέπει στα παιδιά να συμμετέχουν μέσα από λέξεις, νοήματα, χειρονομίες, ήχους ή κίνηση. Έτσι, είναι ιδιαίτερα προσιτή σε πολύ μικρά παιδιά, πολύγλωσσους μαθητές και παιδιά με διαφορετικές ανάγκες λόγου, γλώσσας ή επικοινωνίας.

Helicopter Stories® brings children’s own stories to life through storytelling and story acting—supporting language, early literacy, confidence, creativity, communication, collaboration, inclusion and belonging.

It is designed for educators and professionals working with children aged 2–7 in Greek-speaking, English-speaking, bilingual or multilingual settings, including:

No specialist equipment is required and there is no additional implementation cost for schools. Once trained, Practitioners can begin using the approach immediately—in their setting, classroom, or forest.

Its flexible and inclusive nature enables children to participate through words, signs, gestures, sounds or movement. This makes the approach particularly accessible to very young children, multilingual learners, and children with diverse speech, language or communication needs.

I’m very happy to be participating in this year’s Play Identity Conference, a gathering that brings together educators, researchers, and practitioners who believe that play is not just an activity — it is a way of understanding the world.

The conference explores how play shapes identity, learning, relationships, and the way children and adults experience education. Through panels, workshops, and dialogues, participants will engage with ideas and practices that place play, listening, creativity, and community at the heart of education. 

This year I will be contributing in two ways:

🎨 “ECHOES – An Atelier in Four Movements”
with Lina Marká
An experiential atelier exploring how the echoes of our past experiences, present encounters, and future intentions shape the image of the educator. Through materials, dialogue, and reflection, participants will move through four “movements” — like a piece of music — discovering how research, listening, and identity meet in practice.

“Who Gets to Play? Voice, Story, and Belonging in a Reggio-Inspired Practice”

The 3rd educators’ workshop of the annual Nature’s Classroom of Κηποσχολείο series took place in the garden of our school.

Together, educators stepped into the garden as a living learning environment and explored through experience:

🌿 the ecosystemic approach of a school community, where relationships between people, plants, animals, and place become part of the curriculum

🌿 ways a school garden can support urban biodiversity, inviting life back into our everyday learning spaces

🐾 the importance of movement and physical play as essential languages of outdoor learning.

Moments like these remind us that the school garden is not simply an outdoor space — it is a living classroom where curiosity, care, and community grow together.

🌿 Nature’s Classroom — Planting Seeds of Change 🌿

True education happens when we step beyond walls and reconnect with the living world around us. 🌱

At our first Nature’s Classroom workshop, we reflected on how every outdoor space — a school playground— can become a living classroom. 🍃

Public playgrounds should not just be places for movement and laughter. They can be spaces where ideas, relationships, and curiosity come alive. 🌱

In the Netherlands, playgrounds are becoming greener, healthier, and more interactive through an idea called “harvest walls.” These are vertical gardens built right into public play areas — filled with herbs, vegetables, and fruits like strawberries, peas, and mint. Designed at child height, they encourage kids to pick and eat fresh produce directly from the wall while learning where their food comes from.

Each wall is maintained by schools, parents, and local volunteers, creating a sense of community ownership. Beyond healthy snacking, the initiative promotes environmental education, urban biodiversity, and sustainable food habits from an early age. Children learn the life cycle of plants hands-on — watering, replanting, and harvesting — turning playtime into a living classroom.

The impact reaches beyond playgrounds. Harvest walls reduce city heat, purify air, and spark a cultural shift toward green design in urban planning. What began as a pilot in small Dutch towns is now expanding nationwide, showing how even simple, local innovations can transform cities into edible ecosystems.
