The project aims at developing and implementing an integrated information and awareness-raising campaign for the prevention – reduction of plastic bag pollution in the marine environment. Greece is among the Member States with the highest per-capita consumption of single-use plastic carrier bags and, while one-fifth of the total waste produced is plastic, only 1 % of it is recycled. Plastic bags a

re difficult and costly to recycle and most end up in landfills. Most importantly, countless plastic bags end up as litter in the marine environment as they escape by the wind or water action or are being carelessly disposed by consumers after use. The main reasons for the increased plastic litter that clutters up the environment are the lack of an integrated approach in tackling this issue as well as the ignorance of environmental impacts. Therefore, it becomes evident that any attempted solution should have a particular focus on a combination of communication and implementation strategies, aiming at shifting consumers' behavior and prodding them into action. The main objectives of the LIFE DEBAG project are to:
• Improve the knowledge base and create awareness about the problem of plastic bags use and disposal through an integrated information campaign in national level, as well as to tackle this environmental problem at a local level, through an intensive information and education campaign in Syros Island.
• Ensure a sense of public ownership in order to build support for relevant measures.
• Improve educational efforts to educate teachers and pupils to reduce their usage of plastic bags.
• Contribute to change Greece from a throwaway society into a sustainable society starting from plastic bags, a central and visible aspect of today's disposable culture.
• Monitoring, assessment of the project and dissemination of its results in order to stimulate its reproducibility, while providing added value for the EU.

🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺 ΠΡΙΝ ΜΕΡΙΚΑ ΧΡΟΝΙΑ, ΕΝΑ ΜΙΚΡΟ ΚΑΦΕ ΣΤΗΝ ΑΥΣΤΡΑΛΙΑ ΕΦΕΡΕ ΑΥΤΗ ΤΗΝ ΑΠΛΗ, ΤΣΑΧΠΙΝΙΚΗ ΚΑΙΝΟΤΟΜΙΑ ΣΤΗΝ ΑΝΑΚΥΚΛΩΣΗ!!!!

🧋 Το καφέ αυτό, βρίσκεται στη Βικτώρια (μια από τις 6 πολιτείες της Αυστραλίας) και από εκεί μας ήρθε μια φιλική προς το περιβάλλον ποτηροθήκη!! Ό,τι χαρτόνια από γάλα έχει η ιδιοκτήτρια, αντί για να τα πετάει, τα επαναχρησιμοποιεί σαν ποτηροθήκες για τον καφέ!

🌐 Μια μέρα, ανέβηκε μια φωτογραφία στο Facebook με αυτές της ποτηροθήκες και το μικρό καφέ έγινε viral! Στη συνέχεια υιοθέτησαν αυτό το οικολογικό κολπάκι και πολλά αλλά καφέ στον κόσμο!

👊 ΒΕΒΑΙΑ ΔΕ ΣΤΑΜΑΤΗΣΕ ΕΚΕΙ Η ΦΟΒΕΡΗ ΙΔΙΟΚΤΗΤΡΙΑ! 👊

🦾 Τα πλαστικά καπάκια από τις συσκευασίας του γάλακτος τα στέλνει σε έναν οργανισμό που τα ανακυκλώνει ώστε να γίνουν προσθετικά άκρα για παιδάκια!

♻️ Γενικά υπάρχουν τόσοι τρόποι για να επαναχρησιμοποιούμε πράγματα αλλά ζοριζόμαστε για κάποιο λόγο τόσο να τους βλέπουμε!!! Ακούω ιδέες στα σχόλια!
