So happy to see that one of the Greek Schools that participated in the MAKERS project (High School of Archanes) is sharing its experience in 3D technologies with other schools in Europe, designing exciting activities integrating 3D design with cultural heritage in new Erasmus projects!

The MAKERS team of DSEC is participating in the 3rd National Conference for 3D Design and 3D Printing in Thessaloniki, Greece at December 2023, presenting and describing the involvement of teachers and students in the MAKERS project in Greece.

We shall present the dissemination activities of the MAKERS project that took place in Greece in order to engage school teachers and students in the project. In particular, we will refer to: a) the results of the MAKERS stakeholder workshop b) the teacher training programme in Greece and c) the projects implemented in Greek schools by the teachers involved in the project. We will also describe our efforts to ensure the active participation of teachers at all stages of project implementation and the creation of a learning community that will continue to be supportive of similar efforts after the end of this project.

The MAKER SCHOOLS teams developed some practical materials for teachers, such a model teacher training program on using Tinkercad and a Design Thinking Workshop for students. These materials have been pilot tested with teachers and students in Greece and were improved following the feedback and experience. You can download them, as well as two other modules, from this newsletter or from our website.

During the MUS-E training program on the use of digital technologies in Arts-based education, organized by TUC (Oct 2022) the greek MAKERS team delivered a 3D STEAM workshop including the design of local monuments and Cycladic Art figurines!

Within the scope of 2020-1-BG01-KA201-079274 - MAKER SCHOOLS ERASMUS+ Project conducted under the coordination of Muğla Directorate of National Education, 36 students were given 3D printer applications and drawing program courses during the project. Our classes continue until the end of May 2023. They continue to reveal their products by using our 3D printer, which was taken to our school within the scope of the project. The project student module was introduced to the students.
