The PANTOUR Skills Strategy and Action Plan (2026–2036) is the project’s flagship achievement and the culmination of four years of collaboration, research, stakeholder engagement, and skills intelligence across Europe.

The Strategy sets out a shared vision for the future of skills development in the European tourism sector and proposes 45 concrete actions to address current and emerging workforce challenges. It provides a practical roadmap for industry, education and training providers, policymakers, and social partners to strengthen the sector’s resilience, competitiveness, and attractiveness over the coming decade.

Μετά από 4 χρόνια απαιτητικής αλλά εξαιρετικά παραγωγικής συνεργασίας με καταξιωμένους ευρωπαϊκούς φορείς, η ερευνητική ομάδα του iTed Lab του Τμήμα Οικονομικής και Διοίκησης Τουρισμού - Πανεπιστήμιο Αιγαίου στη Χίο μπαίνει στην τελική ευθεία του έργου.

Με τη συμμετοχή εκπροσώπων από τον ακαδημαϊκό και τον επιχειρηματικό κόσμο, αλλά και πλήθος ενδιαφερομένων το iTED Lab του Τμήμα Οικονομικής και Διοίκησης Τουρισμού - Πανεπιστήμιο Αιγαίου Πανεπιστημίου Αιγαίου διοργάνωσε με επιτυχία το διαδικτυακό workshop του ευρωπαϊκού έργου «CodeBlue: Διεπιστημονική Καινοτόμος Εκπαίδευση στον Τουρισμό και τις Υπηρεσίες για μια Βιώσιμη Γαλάζια Οικονομία». Το έργο συγχρηματοδοτείται από την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος Erasmus+.

Οι κεντρικές τοποθετήσεις της εκδήλωσης:
🔹 Καθ. Θεόδωρος Σταυρινούδης: παρουσίασε το έργο, ανέλυσε τις σύγχρονες διαστάσεις της Γαλάζιας Οικονομίας με έμφαση στον τουρισμό και τη φιλοξενία. Ακολούθως συνόψισε τα αποτελέσματα ποιοτικής έρευνας με πληροφορητές, εστιάζοντας στα κενά δεξιοτήτων και την ανάγκη για τεχνικές και κοινωνικές δεξιότητες του ανθρώπινου δυναμικού.
🔹 Επίκ. Καθ. Χρήστος Κακαρούγκας: παρουσίασε τα αποτελέσματα των ποσοτικών ερευνών που έγιναν σε δείγμα από φοιτητές, ακαδημαϊκούς και επαγγελματίες. Ανέδειξε ότι παρά τη σημασία της Γαλάζιας Οικονομίας, υπάρχει σημαντικό κενό γνώσεων σε θέματα όπως η ναυτική ασφάλεια, η θαλάσσια οικολογία κ.α.
🔹 Δρ. Αλέξανδρος Κέλμαλης .kelmalis: Μετέφερε βέλτιστες πρακτικές βιώσιμης διαχείρισης από τη Λέσβο, εστιάζοντας στην ποιότητα έναντι της ποσότητας και στην περιβαλλοντική ευαισθητοποίηση των επισκεπτών.
🔹 Δρ. Γιώργος Τριανταφυλλίδης .triantaphyllidis (ΕΛΚΕΘΕ): Παρουσίασε τη χρήση «σοβαρών παιγνίων» (serious games) για την εκπαίδευση στις υδατοκαλλιέργειες και τη δυναμική του ιχθυοτουρισμού στην Ελλάδα.

💡 Η εκδήλωση επιβεβαίωσε την ανάγκη για στενότερη συνεργασία πανεπιστημίων, φορέων και αγοράς εργασίας, ώστε να δημιουργηθούν προγράμματα σπουδών που απαντούν στις σύγχρονες προκλήσεις της βιώσιμης γαλάζιας τουριστικής ανάπτυξης.

With the participation of representatives from both the academic and business sectors, as well as a wide range of stakeholders, the iTED Lab of the Department of Tourism Economics and Management of the University of the Aegean in Chios successfully hosted the online workshop for the European project "CodeBlue: Interdisciplinary Innovative Education in Tourism and Services for a Sustainable Blue Economy." The project is co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ program.

Key presentations from the event:
🔹 Prof. Theodoros Stavrinoudis: presented the project and analyzed the contemporary dimensions of the Blue Economy, with an emphasis on tourism and hospitality. He subsequently summarized the results of qualitative research conducted with key informants, focusing on skill gaps and the necessity for technical and social competencies in the workforce.
🔹 Assist. Prof. Christos Kakarougas: presented the results of quantitative research conducted on a sample of students, academics, and professionals. He demonstrated that despite the importance of the Blue Economy, a significant knowledge gap persists in areas such as maritime safety and marine ecology.
🔹 Dr. Alexandros Kelmalis .kelmalis: shared sustainable management best practices from Lesvos, emphasizing quality over quantity and the environmental awareness of visitors.
🔹 Dr. George Triantaphyllidis .triantaphyllidis (HCMR): discussed the use of "serious games" for aquaculture education and the potential of pescatourism in Greece.

💡 The event highlighted the need for closer collaboration between universities, organizations, and the labor market to develop curricula that address contemporary challenges in sustainable blue tourism development.
