The second online session of the SEE-ERA Training for Change programme explored practical approaches to integrating gender-based violence prevention and response measures into institutional Gender Equality Plans, bringing together 39 participants from across South-East Europe and beyond.

🟣 Organised in collaboration with the GenderSAFE project and delivered by Diana Puerto Michaut, the session introduced participants to key GBV concepts, the UniSAFE 7P Model, and practical institutional approaches for embedding prevention, protection, reporting and accountability into Gender Equality Plans.

SEE-ERA was proudly represented at the 19th Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) International Conference, held on 2–4 July 2026 in Marrakesh, Morocco.

☑️ Drawing on SEE-ERA's ongoing work, the presentation explored how reflexive mentoring, peer learning and Communities of Practice can support institutional change and strengthen the implementation of inclusive Gender Equality Plans in Research Performing Organisations across South-East Europe.

The conference provided an excellent opportunity to disseminate SEE-ERA's work, exchange knowledge with the international EDI community and contribute to discussions on advancing Gender Equality in Research and Innovation.

🤝 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧!

On 28 May 2026, SEE-ERA participated in the 5th Sister Projects Meeting, hosted online this time by GEPINC project.

👥 The meeting brought together the sister projects INCLUDE, Project Stream It, Inspirequality, GenderSAFE, GEPINC and SEE-ERA to exchange updates, share good practices and explore opportunities for collaboration in advancing gender equality and inclusiveness in research and innovation.

Project representatives presented recent developments and upcoming activities, including training initiatives, Communities of Practice, GEP Cafés, awareness-raising actions and innovative approaches to supporting institutional change.

💜 Through continued dialogue, sister projects are strengthening their collective impact and contributing to a more inclusive European Research Area.

As part of SEE-ERA, the University of Tirana organised its 1st Internal Information Session on gender-disaggregated data collection, bringing together 37 participants from across the University, including representatives of the Rectorate, faculties, Human Resources, Statistics and IT Offices, members of the GEP Advisory Group, and the SEE-ERA project team.

The session focused on strengthening institutional capacities for collecting, processing and monitoring gender-disaggregated data, while exploring how existing data collection practices can better support Gender Equality Plan (GEP) implementation and monitoring.

👥vParticipants discussed institutional procedures, GEP indicators, SHE Figures and ISCED classifications, and agreed on concrete next steps to further strengthen coordination and harmonise data collection practices across the University.

As part of SEE-ERA, the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (H.F.R.I./ELIDEK) organised its 1st Internal Information Session, bringing together 29 participants both onsite and online, including members of the Scientific Council, administrative staff from different departments, representatives of the Communication Unit, members of the Gender Equality Committee and the Foundation’s internal Community of Practice (CoP).

The session focused on the ongoing implementation of the H.F.R.I. Gender Equality Plan (GEP), highlighting actions related to:

☑️ work-life balance policies and practices
☑️women’s participation in evaluation and decision-making procedures
☑️ strengthening internal communication and staff engagement around GEP implementation

Through discussion, exchange of experiences and active participation, the session highlighted the importance of continuous collaboration and internal engagement in advancing inclusive organisational change.

As part of SEE-ERA, the Πανεπιστήμιο Κρήτης- University of Crete held its 1st Internal Information Session, bringing together members of its academic community to reflect on gender equality priorities and discuss the future development of its Gender Equality Plan (GEP).

🔍The session opened discussions around the University’s experience in designing and implementing its GEP, while also creating space for participants to exchange perspectives on topics that continue to shape institutional change: sustainable support for equality structures, accessibility and trust in reporting and support mechanisms, the visibility of early-career researchers and underrepresented groups, and stronger support systems for women in academia and research.

🗣️Through open dialogue and participation, the session highlighted an important reminder: meaningful institutional change is built not only through policies and action plans, but through continuous reflection, engagement and collective ownership.
