The final international training event of KROS project, organized by Road Safety Institute (RSI) “Panos Mylonas” took place on 8th of February 2021 and was held online. More than 100 teachers from all over Europe and globally participated at the event (Greece, Austria, Poland, Ireland, Spain, Romania, Cyprus, Portugal, Philippines). The 6th training C6 was implemented online from 25th to 27th of January, 2021. The training event was organized by CECE - Confederación Española de Centros de Enseñanza, partner of the Kros project. A number of workshops and presentations on road safety issues took place during this 3-days training for staff members of KROS consortium. The 5th training activity C5 for staff members was successfully implemented online in Schwechat, on 1.10.2020 and 21.10./22.10.2020.
The training event was organized by the KROS team of BG/BRG Schwechat with participation of Road Safety Institute (RSI Greece), Motor Transport Institute (Poland), CECE (Spanish Confederation of Education &Training centers), Trinity College Dublin-The University of Dublin (TCD), Omega Technology (Greece) and EA (Greece). The 4th Joint Staff Training (first of Phase B) of the Erasmus+ project ‘Knights for Road Safety’ was successfully implemented in a mixed mobility form in Athens on 16-18.09.2020. The training event was organized by Road Safety Institute (RSI) ‘Panos Mylonas’, coordinator of the KROS project with participation of all project Partners.
A number of workshops and presentations on road safety issues took place, including ones on KROS training activity sheets, best practices from Europe – LEARN! Project, example of student road safety contest, RSI initiatives for the beginning of the school year, Virtual Reality Activities Workshop, and Road safety resources & KROS Road Safety Academy.
Also schools from Network of KROS Pilot schools presented their projects on road safety.

KROS VIRTUAL SUMMER SCHOOL 2020 (20-24 July 2020)
KROS summer school was successfully completed after 5 days of online trainings and workshops on road safety issues, with the participations of teachers from Greece, Poland, Ireland, Italy, Romania, Brazil and UK.
Road Safety experts from Greece, Poland and Ireland joined forces with school teachers during the project to design, develop and validate an innovative professional development program for supporting the in-service training of teachers on topics related to Road Safety education as a whole school approach.
Some of the Summer School topics where: ‘Introducing Road Safety at the School Curricula: A whole school approach to Road Safety education’, “The Open Schooling Roadmap and Approach’, Children, Adolescents and Road Safety: the most vulnerable road users, Sustainable and active mobility – promoting safe cycling in schools, Drink Driving & Distraction, Emotions in Traffic, Incorporating STEM activities for teaching Road Safety and Digital Literacy: tools and methodologies for teaching Road Safety.
KROS Teachers will be able to play an important role in integrating road safety issues in the school curriculum, by engaging parents and affect students attitudes, implementing best practices and tools for professionals working with and for children adapted to their age and stages of development and thus improving the quality of their teaching while endorsing innovative methods and digital integration in teaching.
