💡 Something I’ve been building for two years is finally live.

This week, we ran our first GEM Clinic -
a teaching-led injectable clinic built around the Global Evidence Matrix.

💎 GEM is a framework rooted in anatomy, evidence and ethical practice.

It’s designed to give injectors clarity - on what to do, where to inject, and why.

No more relying on guesswork or manufacturer-led methods.

This new clinic format lets us capture real treatments, explain clinical reasoning, and teach a repeatable, safe approach to injectables.

We’ll be sharing more soon - including 3D visuals that help bring GEM to life.

Practical, teachable and standardised - it fits right in with the rest of the Harley Academy injectables curriculum.

🤫 The unspoken truth - anxiety, FOMO and competition amongst colleagues within medical aesthetics. Is there really enough to go around?!

😰 Your first few years in aesthetics are overwhelming - the commercial influence of manufacturers, the shiny KOLs, the pressure of getting your clinic full, and the fear of complications.

Many practitioners drop out because they can’t see a future. It feels too hard. Why bother adhering to your high standards when everyone else seems to be cutting corners and succeeding? 🤦🏻‍♂️

My advice: forget what everyone else is doing. Aesthetics is an emerging medical specialty with almost exponential growth ahead. 📈

We have not yet trained enough practitioners to cater to the emerging patient demand.

When I started (2013), I thought I was too late to the party. I promise, in 10 years time, it will STILL be a good time to get into aesthetics.

But I’m not saying it is easy. You will need to be brave, and you will need to learn a lot of new skills. You will be uncomfortable, and you will have to fight to succeed. But NOT because there aren’t enough patients to go around... But because this is ultimately a business. And business is hard.

👆🏼 But your ultimate edge in business is you. So don’t think about anyone else, and focus on your journey.

🤔 What’s really happening with injectables right now?

📈 The whole field of medical aesthetics has a growth rate of 10-15% in all major markets. Toxin and Fillers are traditionally the backbone of this growth. They are high-impact, low risk, and repeatable.

😰 But a current dip in interest is reported across the sector. Are injectables no longer the cornerstone of medical aesthetics? Not likely.

🫦 Even during economic hardship, interest in spending on injectables is resilient. These treatments offer real value to our patients. So what is happening here exactly?

Patients are becoming increasingly aware of the qualifications of their practitioner, and more discerning about the treatments they are looking to have.

It was great to share our vision with , the leading consumer/patient journalist within medical aesthetics.

With the massive licensing news out today, things are looking very positive for a new higher safety threshold in our field.

And sometimes our trainees come for treatment! This amazing lady is a consultant anaesthetist on our Level 7 who has never had filler before. I treated the mid face being careful around the malar oedema and layering at multiple depths.

Run a safe skin clinic. This course covers everything you need to know to set up a professional medical aesthetics clinic that complies with appropriate policy, law and ethics for rejuvenation treatments. This enables you to set up your own business or integrate these treatments into your existing private practice.

Understand the principles of topical skin therapy. Skin products that patients apply regularly to the surface of their skin range from highly effective to useless, or even dangerous.
