Another biblical and surreal place to visit: Mars Hill or the Areopagus. It sits below the Acropolis in Athens, where the Apostle Paul started reasoning with Epicurean and Stoic philosophers in the 1st century.
Read Acts 17:16-ff.
The Bible talks about this place! And that Paul was greatly distressed at all of the idols in Athens. So many of them in that culture.
Karl and I did a hike around the back and ended up on Mars Hill just as the sun was setting over Athens. Incredible!

St Paul’s Bay, Malta, complete with a statue commemorating this Apostle who took the Gospel to the nations.
We can read in Acts 27-28 the devastating shipwreck that happened here as Paul and other Roman prisoners were being shipped to Rome.
Miraculously everyone survived. 3 months later, the journey to Rome continued.
