𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣 | The research phase is complete! 🎉

🗣️ What does career transition really look like for professional dancers?
Over the past months, the STEP consortium has worked closely with dancers and stakeholders across Greece 🇬🇷, Romania 🇷🇴, Italy 🇮🇹 and the Netherlands 🇳🇱, listening to their experiences and learning more about the realities of career transition in the performing arts.

🔎 Together, we completed:
◎ 4 National Mapping Reports
◎ 41 interviews with professional dancers
◎ 12 stakeholder interviews
◎ 7 focus groups
◎ A collection of experiences, challenges and recommendations that will guide the next stages of STEP

💡 What we learned during this research will now feed directly into the development of the STEP framework, training curriculum and practical tools, making sure they respond to the real experiences and needs of dancers.
💚 A huge thank you to every dancer, professional and stakeholder who gave their time, shared their stories and trusted us with their experiences. Your voices are at the heart of STEP and of what we create from here.

🔥 The research phase may be complete, but the next STEP starts now. Stay tuned as we turn what we learned into resources that can support dancers in navigating what comes after the stage.

📢 Call for Papers: "Alternative Finance, Social Economy, and Inclusive Development"

We are pleased to share this international call for papers, promoted as part of the Erasmus+ project Fin4Good - Educational Pathway to Applied Microfinance.

The conference is organised by the Department of Management - DiSA, Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna , in collaboration with Fondazione Yunus , the University of Agder (UiA), the Univerzitet u Sarajevu , the Universiteti i Elbasanit, "Aleksandër Xhuvani"- Faqja Zyrtare and the Academy of Entrepreneurship.

Conference date: December 11th, 2026
Location: Bologna, Italy (in-person)
Deadline for submissions: September 30th, 2026
What's needed: an extended abstract (max 1000 words)
No submission fee required

The conference welcomes theoretical, empirical, and policy-oriented contributions on topics including microfinance and financial inclusion, social finance and impact investing, social entrepreneurship and innovation, and the institutional frameworks that enable inclusive development.

Scholars, practitioners, and policymakers are invited both to submit a paper and to take part in the conference.

Η Ακαδημία Επιχειρηματικότητα αναζητά 7 Co-Facilitators για τις εικονικές διαπολιτισμικές ανταλλαγές (virtual exchanges) στο πλαίσιο του ευρωπαϊκού έργου Stories Beyond Borders.

Νέοι και νέες από την Ευρώπη και την υποσαχάρια Αφρική συνεργάζονται online για να δημιουργήσουν μαζί podcasts, ηχητικά ντοκιμαντέρ, photovoice, καμπάνιες και ταινίες μικρού μήκους, με άξονες τη δημοκρατία, το περιβάλλον, την ταυτότητα, τη μετανάστευση και την ισότητα.

💡 Digital tools are like products in a supermarket. To buy the right products, the necessities of the home have to be established. Likewise, to choose the right digital tools, organisations first need to establish their specific digital needs.

Alessandro Carbone from Academy of Entrepreneurship came up with this analogy during the last in-person training session for SESOs in Brussels. A coherent digital strategy is essential for SESOs to scale their impact. But they often lack the resources, infrastructure and skills to turn their potential into effective action. This is why DIGI-SEII aims to support SESOs across Europe through a hands-on digital transformation journey that offers practical tools, peer insights, and real-world learning.

Through the programme, participants will gain:
✨ Tailored learning designed specifically for SESOs
🛠️ Practical skills to strengthen their organisations and the communities they serve
🌍 Opportunities for international exchange and peer learning
🎯 Dedicated mentoring and ongoing support
📍 The opportunity to participate in one of the in-person Training Hubs in The Hague or Athens

Our partners at DEEP Ecosystems are organising the DEEP Startup Ecosystem Conference on 10 September 2026 in Jülich (Cologne), Germany, hosted at Startup Village Jülich.

The conference brings together around 100 ecosystem builders, innovation managers, investors and public institutions for two days of interactive working groups, data-driven discussions and partnering around concrete opportunities, including EU funding calls. Results from the working groups are published in joint white papers.

If you work on startup ecosystem building or innovation support, this is a good place to find collaborators from across Europe.
