Top-quality professional instruction on IB Theory of Knowledge essay-writing and Presentation. I am a committed academic philosopher in love with Philosophy!
Despite what many people may think, Philosophy is one of the most exciting, mind-blowing, breath-taking, adventurous and nurturing activities one can perform! It is an area of knowledge that pertains into all areas of knowledge. It helps you grow who you are, how you think and how you feel....regarding everything! And yet, throughout my student and teaching experience, I have seen that most IB stu
dents do not exactly understand the nature and purpose of the Theory of Knowledge course. Most of them do not see any purpose in it all! Most of the times, they feel it as an unknown, fuzzy and often boring, compulsory obligation they have to complete in order to get their Diploma. They never realise what the benefits of studying it may be, why they are asked to attend it and what its use in their academic and professional lives may be, if there is any! Generally, they don't know what to do with it, neither what they are asked to do for it! No blame for that attitude. Most often than not, the cause and responsibility for this attitude rests with teachers or coordinators at schools, who do not teach the TOK properly, do not attach it much significance. nor do they explain to kids why they have to take this... “mysterious” course. Essentially, the Theory of Knowledge essentially is an introduction to Philosophy. And for this reason, the TOK is one of the most exciting and potentially promising academic experiences a student can have! Why? Because Philosophy teaches you a set of intelligible practices that sharpen your intelligence, perception, analytical and critical skills, expressibility and writing abilities. It offers you the chance of building a 'place' within yourself from which, whatever issue, question or problem you have to address, whatever its nature may be, whether it is theoretical, practical, economical, personal, scientific, you are able to address it from a higher perspective, with a clearer mind, a luminous perception, detachment and so sobriety and thus with enhanced creativity and innovative inspiration. Therefore, Philosophy does not require you to become a professional Philosopher – to study it as a course – nor to be good at 'theoretical' classes in order for it to be accessible, relevant or helpful to you. No matter who you are or what you study, Philosophy is a way of making that better. We can say that it is a kind of human technology, or technology for intellectual growth, that teaches us how to work on ourselves, with ourselves, in order to grow whatever capacities we already have and need in order to be good at what we like -whether that is Mathematics, cooking, planting, engineering, art or medicine. With Philosophy as your armor you will just perform better in whatever area of knowing and practice you have chosen and feel that suits you better. Philosophy is that kind of intelligible activity that makes human beings blossom, in whatever 'field' of knowledge they have sown themselves. IB students would therefore feel very lucky that it is compulsory for them to take this course, if only they were taught what the course aspires to offer them! And that is, all the benefits of Philosophy as a human technology of intellectual blossoming and growth! I teach TOK as a class that it is fun, yet at the same time rigorous, self-exploring and at the same time concise and scientific so that students can achieve outstanding results in both their TOK Essays and presentations. I provide supervision and guidance on efficient and excellent essay-writing, tips on essay and presentation structure, decoding and critical analysis of the questions, organisation of ideas and rigorous argumentation.
