How can the fashion industry truly respond to the EUโ€™s urgent call for a circular economy? According to the EU Strategy for Sustainable Textiles, all products must be durable, recyclable, and eco-friendly by 2030. ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ The transition isn't just about fabrics itโ€™s about technology and collaboration.

Our Sust3DFashion Interdisciplinary Handbook is a strategic roadmap developed under the Erasmus+ VET framework. It is designed to merge two worlds that must now speak the same language: traditional textile craftsmanship and digital 3D design. ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’ป

Seam the Change brought together 26 innovators from 8 European cities to rethink the future of fashion โ€” collaboratively, creatively, and courageously.

Our Seam the Change Hackathon was successfully elaborated within the ๐’๐”๐’๐“๐Ÿ‘๐ƒ ๐…๐š๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐„๐ซ๐š๐ฌ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฌ+ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฃ๐ž๐œ๐ญ โ€“ and what an inspiring experience it was!

Designers, makers, VET learners, SMEs and policy actors from France, Italy, Germany, Greece and Tรผrkiye came together in Athens (11-14 November 2025) to ๐œ๐จ-๐œ๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ญ๐ž ๐œ๐ข๐ซ๐œ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐š๐ซ ๐ฌ๐จ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ญ๐ž๐ฑ๐ญ๐ข๐ฅ๐ž ๐š๐ง๐ ๐Ÿ๐š๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐ฌ๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ through hands-on teamwork, prototyping, design thinking and 3D tools.

The hackathon aimed to:
โœจ spark innovation through experimentation
โœจ develop skills in circular and digital fashion
โœจ foster collaboration between local and EU partners
โœจ turn ideas into real prototypes and concepts

โœจ The fashion industry is facing a turning point โ€” innovation and sustainability are no longer optional, they are essential. Among the technologies driving this change, 3D printing stands out for its potential to transform design, production, and the circular economy.

In this context, the #๐’๐”๐’๐“๐Ÿ‘๐ƒ๐…๐š๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐Œ๐Ž๐Ž๐‚ is being developed by 6 European partners and will soon be available in 5 languages. Conceived as a truly collaborative effort, the course is designed to provide learners with a structured pathway, combining theory, videos, quizzes, and real case studies.

Across 9 interconnected modules, the MOOC will guide participants from the fundamentals of 3-D design in the textile and fashion sector, to the use of CAD software, the exploration of printing technologies and equipment, and the process of converting digital concepts into physical models. The programme will also address the environmental benefits and circular-economy applications of 3D printing, while exploring how these innovations can be integrated into real manufacturing workflows.

The journey will culminate in a case-study module, showcasing how creativity, innovation, and sustainability come together in practice. This final step is not just about learning tools, but about understanding how to apply them to shape the future of the fashion industry.
