Today marks ten years since my father passed away.

After his death, I decided to take on the role of steward of his musical legacy. Gathering and organising his archive is still a work in progress. Some recordings of his music were made professionally, but many existed only in informal recordings and had to be restored.

Part of this material eventually became two releases, L’onda de la Memoria and Orchestral Works, which bring together pieces written and recorded across different periods of his life.

The process of documenting and preserving this archive is ongoing, with the aim of making his work accessible to performers, listeners and researchers.

From the archives.

When we were preparing the visuals for art of simplicity's 'When Fables have a Bitter Taste', there were several ideas explored before we settled on the final cover.

This piece by .chras was one of the alternate artworks created during that process.

The album itself revolves around themes of childhood memories, trauma and the collapse of the myths we grow up believing in. This version of the artwork approached those ideas from a slightly different angle, but still carried the same dark and introspective atmosphere.

In the end we chose another image for the cover, but I always felt that this one deserved to see the light as well.

A scene from J’Accuse (1919) by Abel Gance, rescored using my composition Imagined Communities.

The piece was originally written as a sonic deconstruction of nationalism, inspired by Benedict Anderson’s concept of “imagined communities.”
In this context, the returning dead soldiers are reframed not as heroic symbols, but as victims of constructed identities and collective mythologies.

Traditional elements (bagpipe, frame drum) collide with electric guitar and electronics, reshaping the emotional narrative of the scene.
