Individuals who score a ‘1’ on the ASLR are often failing to engage their core properly when moving their limbs. This can allow for excessive anterior tilt of the pelvis and arching of the lower back, a common posture that doesn’t facilitate quality movement.
Dead Bugs are excellent exercises as maintaining contact between lower back and ground ensures a neutral spine and provides immediate feedback for athlete. The added resistance in this variation demands core engagement.
