Dear Academician Yu Mengsun:

Happy New Year!

I am a graduate of the first acupuncture class of the Shanghai College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Over the past 60 years, I have been promoting the traditional Chinese medicine, specifically the methods of acupuncture plus daoyin around the world. I have observed extremely effective outcomes by using Acupuncture + daoyin as the principal medical healing and rehabilitation methods: They are used in all clinical departments, and are especially effective for cases of critical illnesses, severe pain and paralysis, for which they have achieved significant and lasting results. It proves, that medicine knows no borders, race or skin color; diseases make no difference between Chinese or Westerners, rich or poor and noble or low ranked. Diseases only distinguish between mild and severe, acute or chronic, old or weak, women, children or disabled individuals.

This novel covid-19 virus pneumonia is similar to SARS and avian flu epidemics of previous years; there are currently no specific drugs or antiviral vaccines against the epidemic outbreak. To this end, I advocate the use of the natural therapies of scalp acupuncture plus daoyin for the treatment of the corona virus. This is because I have personally treated a wide variety of patients with this therapy, including conditions such as SARS, avian flu, influenza virus infections, as well as various other inflammatory conditions caused by bacterial and viral agents which have all achieved good results.

When in the near future patients with flu-like symptoms appear everywhere in the world it is my wish and my hope that all doctors and students who have studied the basic of Zhu's Scalp Acupuncture method both in this country and throughout the world will act together! The specific treatment protocol is as follows:

1: Areas selected: Head and Face area, Upper Jiao area, Middle Jiao area, and Lower Jiao area:

2. Needling method and manipulation: Thread a needle from GV 23 Upper Star Shang Xing in direction of GV 24 Spirit Court Shen Ting and stimulate with medium strength method. On the Upper Jiao and Middle Jiao use two sets of three opposing needles. Use medium stimulation. When about to perform the treatment, ask the patient to wear a face mask.

3. Daoyin method: While manipulating the needles the patient must hold their breath for as long as possible until they feel a heat sensation or sweating on the back of their head, neck or spine. Only then can normal breathing or deep chest breathing be performed. For patients presenting with nausea, vomiting, or stomach discomfort, using their hand, have them apply a little pressure on the stomach cavity and while manipulating the needles in the Middle Jiao area, ask the patient to move the hands in an up to down motion causing the energy to descend; at the same time the patient should take deep abdominal breaths. In the event of difficulty urinating or distention and low abdominal pain in women or menstrual irregularities, ask the patient to massage the lower abdomen with both hands as well as admonish them to breathe deeply. All the while, manipulate the needles in the Lower Jiao area. The patient needs to continue these daoyin methods for half an hour to an hour after which they can relax. However, needle manipulation needs to be performed for a minimum of three to four times daily, and each time the needles need to be manipulated for no less than 15 minutes. (Needles should be retained the entire day). This must be accompanied by the above described deep breathing daoyin. Generally patients can be cured within two to three days.

I hope that all of you will pay attention to collecting notes and pertinent information. Pay attention to your personal protection. You may first treat yourself, retaining the needles for no less than 4-6 hours. I hope that with this, my small effort, you and I will work together to treat and prevent this epidemic viral pneumonia to benefit all people and aid the national and international efforts to overcome this disease.

此次新型病毒肺炎类似前几年的非典和禽流感，无特效药物和抗病毒疫苗。为此本人倡导：应用“头皮针剌➕导引”該法的自然医疗手段，进行治疗。因为本人曾以该疗法治疗.类似非典及禽流感病毒感染病症，也有各种因细菌性、病毒毒性感染的各种炎症取得良好效果。當各地出现类似流感症状的病人：本人希望全國和全球所有学过朱氏头皮针基础医学.的医生和学生们一致行动起来！具体操作方法如下：一：选区：头面区、上焦区、中焦区、下焦区：二操作手法：头面一针由上星向神庭方向针刺用中度抽气手法。上焦与中焦三针对刺，中度抽气法。运针时让病人戴上囗罩。二导引：同时尽可能闭住呼吸，直至感到脊背部发热或轻度发汗。才能进行正常呼吸和扩胸深呼吸。若有噁心和泛呕或胃脘不适，在中焦针刺与运针时配合胃脘部稍用力作胃脘部自上向下按摩，亦自行作上腹部深呼吸。若伴小便不利或妇女小腹部胀痛不适或有月亊不调，在针刺下焦区时以双手按压小腹部配合深呼吸。约半到一小时，可以休息，但每天至少运针三·四次，每次运针不少於15分钟。依照初次配合导引深呼吸。一般二、三天可愈！希望大家注意收集资料。注意自己保护。或先针自己。留针至少4一6小时以上。希望能够与您一起为病毒性肺炎的防治和全民健康工程贡献我们的微薄之力！
