🫟☀️🌈Marina Tsironi is a performer and visual artist whose practice explores identity, female experience and trauma through a psychoanalytic lens. Working across performance, installation, and wearable objects, she investigates the body as a vessel of memory and a site where personal and social narratives unfold.

🍬During the final two years of her MFA, her research focused on how materialities can translate embodied experiences into kinetic narratives. Drawing from her personal archive and the public realm, she creates works where movement, memory, and matter converge—transforming space into a landscape of material traces and lived experience.

🪾🪵🍂🍁🪜Over the course of two years, Konstantinos Koinos allowed his hands to search for form within the material. Without a predetermined plan or knowing where each movement would lead, he wove, stitched, pulled, and joined natural fibres. Form did not exist in advance; it gradually emerged through repetition, tension, and the material’s resistance.

🛖The images present works, details, and moments from the making process throughout this two-year journey. Together, they form an archive of gestures and material transformations, in which weaving functions not simply as a technique, but as a way of thinking and creating form. Natural fibres are transformed into ambiguous sculptural forms that evoke bodies or skins without acquiring a fixed identity. Traces of gesture, memory, and the bodily process remain visible on their surfaces.

☢️🔧🔩Over the past two years Anastasis Karras has developed a body of work that explores the shifting relationship between technology, human agency and nature. Through automated machines, sound, kinetic sculptures, and interactive installations, he investigates how malfunction, noise, and unpredictability can operate as expressive forces rather than technical defects.

🛠️🧨Working through the design and construction of machines, he treats repair and dismantling as a generative process. Mass-produced devices are disassembled, reconfigured, and transformed into autonomous systems that challenge their original purpose and reveal new forms of interaction. His practice recontextualizes everyday objects as conceptual instruments, questioning the boundaries between utility, symbolism, authorship, and control.

🌀🪐🌑🌙 Over the past two years of her MFA studies, Stefania Moskovi has developed a body of work that explores fear in relation to cosmic events. Through painting, she brings together images of dying stars with personal emotional landscapes, tracing a connection between inner states and astronomical phenomena.

♾️⚛️The works presented here form part of an ongoing investigation into scale, vulnerability, and distance. Astrophysical events will continue to unfold beyond the limits of our lifetime, making human experience feel smaller, but also strangely suspended within something vast.

🌀✅Over the past two years of his MFA studies, Thodoris Saitis has developed a body of work that explores memory, language, materiality, and the fragility of silence . The works presented here reflect an ongoing artistic investigation into the relationships between image, archive, and lived experience. The following text offers the artist’s personal reflection on the ideas that inform this practice

Eng.

I grew up with the echo of a language fading away, with verses whispering to me:

(One cold moonlit night, I entered my village...)

In these snapshots, I share with you some of my latest visual explorations—an attempt to transform failure, decay, and the loss of materiality, through cuts and folds, into a living archive.

I find myself somewhere in between the familiar and the unfamiliar, where sound and memory lose their function and become pure sensation.

I deliberately left the stories of this “other narrator” unfinished, inviting the viewer to slow their gaze.

Gr.

A first look inside the studios of the MFA 👁

As we approach the Open Studios this March, we share glimpses of the spaces at the Athens School of Fine Arts that have hosted our creative energy, the exchange of ideas, and moments of our communal life over the past months.
What follows is more than a look at the spaces themselves. It’s a glimpse of the atmosphere we created within them. Over time, these studios became more than workspaces. They became part of our shared experience, shaped by our conversations, experiments, and thoughts.

See you at the Open Studios, 6-8 March! 💥

Ilias Doulis joins

Ιlias Doulis () is a visual artist based in Athens,
working across video, mixed media, painting and film.
His films have been screened in festivals such as Moscow
International Film Festival and Drama International Short Film
Festival. He is currently pursuing an MFA at the Athens School of
Fine Arts.
His work explores the forms and mechanisms of power, relationships
of oppression, consumerism, and the sterile, one-dimensional
narrative through which contemporary mass culture interprets and
defines the world, society, our personal relationships, and our
very selves.
Using shock and humour as tools, he attempts to deconstruct the
simplistic, mechanistic, utilitarian logic of the contemporary way
of life. A logic that leaves no room for daydreaming, purposeless
play, dynamic relationships with the world and the creation of new
worlds.

Pauline Rouzet joins

Pauline Rouzet is a french artist born in Marseille. She studied photography and video at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, where she developed a documentary -based practice, exploring how we narrate places and the collective stories they hold. After moving to Athens in 2024, her work has focused on national (and counter) narratives, informed by her experience as an editor and research assistant for Forensic Architecture Initiative Athens.
She is currently working on her next movie, which would start from the fictional collapse of two buildings in the center of Athens. Her work has been presented at the Centre Pompidou and the Doc! in Paris. She has also been a jury member for the Cannes Film Festival and Cinéma du Réel.
