How do we make sure that AI-driven renovation decisions are not just smart—but also reliable, transparent, and aligned with European values?
At Le’ Colaz, we follow leading European and international frameworks.
What does this mean in practice?
✔️ Our system supports key lifecycle decisions like reuse, refurbishment, and recycling
✔️ AI models are tested against real expert knowledge before being applied in pilot buildings
✔️ Every recommendation is backed by data, regulations, and clear reasoning
✔️ Sustainability criteria are built directly into the decision-making process
💡 The result? A digital intelligence layer you can trust — designed for smarter, greener, and regulation-ready buildings across Europe.

🌍 The Regio1st project comes to a close — but the impact moves forward
The final event of the Life project took place in Brussels during the “Please Look Up! Efficient, resilient, fair and smart – what does our energy and climate future look like?" conference, last October. The event marked the official completion of a three-year journey dedicated to embedding the Energy Efficiency First (EE1st) principle into regional energy planning across Europe.
🎯 With the support of EU partners, regional policymakers, researchers, and energy professionals, Regio1st delivered vital tools, methodologies, guidance and policy recommendations that will empower regions to place energy efficiency at the heart of their decision-making processes.
📢 At the event, the presentations given focused on the key results of the project, while during the roundtable, policy makers and regions gave insights about the way forward. George Konstantopoulos ( Decision Support Systems Laboratory EPU - NTUA, Institute of Communication and Computer Systems - ICCS NTUA ) presented one of the key deliverables: “Policy Recommendations for Embedding EE1st in Regional Energy Planning” offering structured insights and policy pathways for regional implementation. These guidelines offer concrete steps for authorities to move from ambition to implementation.
While the Regio1st project has formally concluded, the work it started continues. The ideas, networks, and strategies developed will fuel the next wave of action toward a smarter, fairer, and more sustainable energy future in Europe.
💚 Thank you to all consortium partners, stakeholders, and participants who contributed to the success of Regio1st. Special thanks to the dedicated ICCS team who contributed to the success of the project: John Psarras, George Konstantopoulos, Andriana Stavrakaki, Hera Neofytou
