Summer Program opens on June 10!

Ilias & Lila Lalaounis, founders of the ILJMuseum, at the Theater of Dionysos at the foot of the Athenian Acropolis. Today, their fourth daughter, Ioanna, is the Director of the Museum and the Hephaistos Summer School program.

JSS is open to All: Students or just Jewelry enthusiasts may attend the course with a basic background in Art History.

The course includes – Archaeology, History and Technology of western jewelry under the light of the Acropolis
Hephaistos Summer School is an accredited program on the History of Western Jewelry that runs every June. It is organized through the Ilias Lalaounis Jewelry Museum Educational Center in collaboration with esteemed Greek and International academics, archaeologists and jewelry experts. Participants will explore the history jewelry the history of jewelry from Classical Antiquity until today, in the heart of western civilization.

JSS Important Announcement:

The Administrative and Academic committees of the “Hephaistos Summer Program” and the Board of Trustees of the Ilias Lalaounis Jewelry Museum, due to the corona virus COVID-19, announce the postponement of this year’s summer program in June 2020.

We wish to inform you that due to the unexpected and unpredictable near future situation, we have decided to keep the absolute necessary measures for the safety of all visitors and colleagues, thus, be released from a commitment of this year’s participation.

All applications will be transferred to the 2021 program, with a priority to this year’s participant’s placement.
