🔥 was proof of what happens when academia and the public sector unite to drive meaningful digital innovation! 🎓+🏛️=🚀

📌 From June 5 to 7, 2026, the MA in Digital Transformation at Panteion University hosted an intensive Hackathon in proud collaboration with the ΓΓ Επικοινωνίας & Ενημέρωσης / SecGen for Communication & Media and with the valuable support of the EPLO - European Public Law Organization.

🎯 At the heart of this year’s innovation sprint was a critical question: How can we shield the integrity of communication in the age of pervasive mis/dis-information?

📢💬 In an environment where deepfakes, automated bots, anonymous networks, malicious AI content, and foreign hybrid threats heavily pressure public trust and democratic legitimacy, our postgraduate students stepped up.

💡They learned to think fast, collaborate under pressure, and blend creative vision with strategic engineering.

🚀 The result? Comprehensive proposals and functional AI prototypes to track disinformation, manage communication crises, streamline e-briefings, and build citizen resilience against modern digital threats.

🙌 Huge congratulations to all participating students for pitching such practical, high-quality solutions, and a special shout-out to our 3 winning teams who earned the highest marks from our esteemed panel of judges!

🙏 A massive thank you to everyone who brought this initiative to life: our dedicated professors, guest speakers, mentors, and the outstanding teams of the General Secretariat and EPLO.

👏 Congratulations to the “Corpus Electica” team for winning in the category “Institutional Disinformation Shield”!

➡️ This student team proposed a powerful app designed to protect democratic legitimacy and shield public dialogue during sensitive election periods when disinformation, deepfakes and foreign information manipulation peak.

🌟 What makes Corpus Electica special is its dual-portal architecture that simultaneously arms both institutions and everyday citizens.

🏛️ For the government, it provides a real-time operational dashboard featuring an automated threat detection engine and AI narrative risk scoring.

👥 For citizens, it offers a trusted mobile interface that delivers localized alerts and pre-bunking/debunking educational tips.

📌 Built strictly "ethical by design", the system enforces absolute anti-censorship operational limits to defend democratic trust while fully preserving freedom of expression. It achieves this by relying entirely on transparent threat labeling rather than content takedowns or account interventions.

👏 Congratulations to the “Crisis Compass” Team for winning in the category “Crisis Communication Governance Model”!

👩‍💻 This student team designed a web-based tool for the General Secretariat for Communication and Media, establishing a coordinated and resilient communication system that delivers trusted, timely, and consistent information during crises.

🧭🚨 The “Crisis Compass” seamlessly guides authorities through a structured crisis lifecycle across 7 integrated modules:

🔎 it captures the initial incident intake, feeds a real-time Social Listening Engine to score disinformation risks, uses an AI Escalation Assessment to suggest threat tiers, and instantly triggers dynamic role activation for relevant state actors.

📢🗣️ From there, spokespersons utilize a Narrative Builder Matrix to lock in official drafts, route statements through automated Approvals & Distribution channels, and close the loop with a Post-Crisis Evaluation report.

✅ By bringing order to chaos, this prototype effectively safeguards public trust and defuses the spread of disinformation before it can escalate.

👏 Congratulations to the “Traceproof” team for winning in the category: Evidence-Based Governmental Communication & E-Briefing Workflow!

➡️ This student team built an internal GovTech dashboard that completely changes how public servants communicate during a crisis.

⏳ Instead of waiting hours for final reports, their platform allows the government spokesperson to post official “Under Verification” updates to a government website in 3 clicks and under 3 minutes.

🤖 It also leverages an AI simplification engine to instantly turn dense, technical briefs into clear, plain-language summaries that anyone can understand.

✅ The "TraceProof" solution guarantees public trust by strictly blocking any update that isn’t digitally anchored to an official, independent scientific source.

🏆 3 challenges. 3 champions. 3 intense days. has officially wrapped up!

🔥 This year’s Hackathon of the MA in Digital Transformation was organized in collaboration with the ΓΓ Επικοινωνίας & Ενημέρωσης / SecGen for Communication & Media of the Presidency of the Government.

🤝 Through this powerful partnership, our students tackled the critical key theme of shielding the integrity of communication in the era of pervasive mis / dis- information.

👥 Working in teams, the students developed smart digital prototypes to address three main challenges:

🎯 Challenge 1: Evidence-based governmental communication & e-briefing workflow.
🎯 Challenge 2: Crisis Communication Governance Model.
🎯 Challenge 3: Institutional Disinformation Shield in election periods.

💡The level of innovation, teamwork, creativity and strategic thinking was truly unmatched.

🙌 A massive congratulations to our three winning teams for their exceptional proposals, and a huge well done to all participants for their incredible hard work! You all absolutely crushed it. 👏💜

🎓 Our recent graduate, Zoi Kaloudi, welcomed this year’s Class to the European Public Law Organization premises in the center of Athens during .

📌 The EPLO venue hosted the second day of our annual competition, which is co-organized with the General Secretariat for Communication and Media and proudly supported by EPLO.

🔙 Just last year, Zoi was sitting in those exact same chairs as a student competing in Hackathon 2025. In fact, her team went on to win the competition for the most innovative proposal! 🏆

⏩️ Fast forward to today, she has graduated, is working at EPLO, and is now standing on the other side of the podium welcoming the next generation.

Seeing our alumni pass the torch to the new class is the ultimate reward for our Master’s program. 🤝💜
