🎌Hidesaburo Ueno🎌 (上野英三郎)

🛠️Hidesaburo Ueno was Japan's first real authority on agricultural civil engineering, trained over 3,000 engineers and helped rebuild Japan after the Great Kanto Earthquake.

🐕However, Ueno is remembered for his loyal dog, Hachiko, who waited for him at Shibuya Station for over nine years. He purchased Hachiko as a puppy, and the dog became his constant companion, following him to Shibuya Station every day.

😭In 1925, Hidesaburo Ueno, died while giving a lecture at the University of Tokyo.
Hachiko continued to wait for his master even after Ueno's death, and his story has been immortalized in books, TV shows, and movies. In 2015, a statue was unveiled outside the University of Tokyo, depicting Hachiko happily greeting his master.

Don't let these similar-looking characters trip you up!

😉 Here's a quick tip to remember the difference: さ(sa) is similar to き(ki) but its missing a line, so its a bit SAd. Easy, right?
SImilarly ち(chee) is like a CHEAP five, that's why the top line has fallen.

✍️To help distinguish between similar hiragana characters, I recommend practicing writing them frequently and paying close attention to their subtle differences. You can also try associating each character with a unique image or word to help you remember it more easily!

Today in Japan, we celebrate a unique tradition where men show their appreciation to the lovely women who gifted them chocolates on Valentine's Day. And it's not just any ordinary chocolate, it's called giri-choco, which is a gesture of obligation or courtesy, while honmei-choco is given to someone they have romantic feelings for.
