~Students, stories and an RPG lesson~
We promised you students' stories and you'll get them!
🎓The UPenn professor & The Polish Developer💻
One of our most beloved students who joined Greeky was a UPenn professor and a poet. A. left the US, during the Trump years came to Greece, published two poetry collections influenced by her life in Athens, participated in poetry and writing groups of expats, and after 8 years in Greece, was granted permanent residency. Incredible, isn’t it?
A bit similar to the story above, a Polish expat got carried away by the temperament of Greek people and decided to stay in Greece for good and work as a remote developer!
💑THE COUPLE who left the bombed-out Jerusalem💥
One of the most thrilling of our student’s stories comes from the Middle East. In 2014, T. and Y. left the bombed Jerousalem, seeking a new chapter in Greece. They debarked and settled in Athens to live from up close the political turmoil and cultural reshuffling of the years 2014-2918. A few years later, their artistic insticts led them to the island of Aegina, where they rented a house and envisioned it as being a beacon of creativity. Their home blossomed into a cultural hub, attracting artists from near and far.
📜Two archaeologists from the USA📜
Two of our most beloved students were a beautiful couple of archaeologists, who had come from the US to take part in an excavation here in Greece, both of them brilliant and ambitious. Remarkably, one of them was so eloquent that she managed to translate literary texts by Papadiamantis, one of the most important Greek writers, famous for his ‘mysterious’ language, a blend of colloquial and ancient words, phrases and features.
