In performance architecture school we use a wide range of bibliography to inform our teaching. Here are three amazing sources:
A.Reading Dance, edited by Robert Gottlieb
B.Deleuze and Performance, edited by Laura Cull
C.Metamorphoses of the Body, by Jose Gill

In performance architecture school we use a wide range of bibliography to inform our teaching. Taken by Surprise, a Dance Improvisation Reader, edited by AnnCooper Albright and David Gere "reflects the development of improvisation as a compositional and performance mode in a wide variety of dance contexts, includiong dance traditions from around the globe, such as Yoruban masked dance, Indian Bharatanatyam and flamenco". Also, very importantly in the context of our course the book contains "a section on improvisation in everyday life".

In performance architecture school we use a wide range of bibliography to inform our teaching."Body, space, image" by Miranda Tufnell and Chris Crickmay is a remarkable book about improvisation-a narrative of discovery that sets the mind loose from the rut of everyday perception. From a starting point in movement, improvisation is extended to include groups working together and the physiscal setting of performance-space, ligjt, sound, objects."

In the process of architectural design various tools are used, each one establishing a different language for representing the reality of a building.

Transitioning between languages, slippages in translation naturally occur…

Swinging from drawing to building this project incorporates cyanotype, dialogue, sketching, model-making, installation, film and storytelling in a game of translation, transgression and transcription between art and architecture.

Hurry up to join the Exhibition, the Private View & an exciting drawing workshop >> more info >> https://www.eyetopencil.art/pages/projects

Performance Architecture 4
Performance Architecture Now

On the pre-final day participants selected their sites and were introduced to the brief of the final projects. Later students collectively worked on their final performances with assistance of the tutors. The parking lot, the street intersection and public park served as chosen sites that inspired the groups to rethink these spaces bodily and employ them as a temporary stage for final works 💫

Performance Architecture Day 3
Representation

On day three we discussed the idea of representation, touching upon Baudrillard’s “simulacrum” and Lefebvre’s “spatial triad” among other theoretical concepts.’
Each participant was encouraged to bring an object and discover its alternative uses and possibilities in the space.

Afterwards the group was encouraged to wander around the Kerameikos area for the picking the site for the final performance 🌟
