The Special issue of IEEE IT Professional magazine on "Revisiting Rural and Remote Connectivity Challenges in B5G and 6G Networks is available". At the From the Editors section, together with Dimitris Uzunidis, we present an open access article at the entitled "The 6G Era: What it Takes to Add another G", where a report starting with the introduction of the 1G in the early 1980s and continuing their evolution to the 5G and beyond in presented.

Tonight in Rome, Maximo Ibarra CEO of Engineering Group and world renowned philosopher David Chalmers will discuss the impact technologies like AI have on humanity on the palatine hill to over 900 spectators.

There will be a demo where the Avatars of Confucius and Plato will answer live questions from the stage.

The Avatars were created by ENG. ENG also created Confucius’ LLM while Plato’s LLM was created by ThinGenious.

Though H2020-Rescuer project has (successfully) finished, the work of COmputer Networks & SErvices Research Laboratory - UNIWA researchers in the project is quite promising. The recent publication of the Indoor object classification dataset including sparse point clouds from mmWave in Nature Scientific Data is an acknowledgment of the high quality of the work of the team, giving us motivation to continue our research towards the recognition of objects solely recorded by an mmWave radar, in order to be used in applications where vision-based classification is cumbersome.

This document introduces the RadIOCD, which is a dataset that contains sparse point cloud representations of indoor objects, collected by subjects wearing a commercial off-the-shelf mmWave radar. MSc program in Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning has announced the new call for applicants (for the semester starting March 2025). the program, in its new form as of 2024 is completely in english, allowing part time studying and supporting remote participation in courses (some restrictions apply).

Our first IT in Practice session (out of 3 in total, since this year we witnessed a 50% increase of submissions of papers compared to our mist successful years organising ITIP symposium at 2024 IEEE COMPSAC) has started. Together with co-chair Murugesan, we feel honoured to have former IEEE Computer Society President (2011) Sorel Reisman and IEEE Computer Society 2025 President (2024 President-Elect) Hironori Washizaki attending our first session. Many thanks to Osaka University for hosting the conference and for their excellent hospitality!

@ COmputer Networks & SErvices Research Laboratory - UNIWA we are proud of Efstratios Paliodimos and fotis Papadopoulos, who were got the Best Student Paper and Presentation on Communication Systems Award at MOCAST Conference. I also feel proud of the CONSERT members Prof. Stelios Mitilineos and Post Doc Researcher Dimitrios Uzunidis, who participated in the team and assisted in the preparation of the paper presenting our research in the context of RESCUER project, in use of radars for victims detection.

The new year starts very promising for CONSERT, with the MoA signed with Distributed, Parallel, and Collaborative Systems-Internet Computing & Systems Optimization (DPCS-ICSO) research group of the Open University of Catalonia. We hope that this will signify the beginning of a productive and mutually beneficial research collaboration!
