The Day of the African Child is celebrated every year on 16th June to honour the courage and sacrifices of African children who fought for their right to education and a better future. The day reminds us of the importance of protecting children’s rights and ensuring that every child has access to quality education.

Celebrating this day helps to raise awareness about the challenges facing children in Africa, such as poverty, child labor, discrimination, and lack of educational opportunities. It also encourages governments, schools, communities, and families to work together to improve the welfare of children.

On 16th June, The Elite Vision English Academy (EVEA) organized a program to celebrate the Day of the African Child. The event was attended by students, teachers, parents, and invited guests on the school’s main campus.

The program began with an opening prayer and welcome address by the school administration. Speeches were delivered on the importance of education, children’s rights, and the role of young people in Africa’s development.

Students participated in various activities such as poetry recitals, cultural dances, drama performances, quizzes, and singing. These activities highlighted the talents of African children and promoted awareness of their rights and responsibilities.
