Lesson 1: the auxiliaries verb.
Definition : an auxiliary is a verb that can help us to conjugate another verb and also for asking questions .
Today we are going to see two of them:
" to be "and "to have"
You know that before being auxiliaries they are verb. example: to be
1-You are a student .
2-She is happy.
To have
1- they have a car .
2- He has a new phone .
As auxiliary they play the role of helpers for examples : to be
1-I am playing football .
2-We are watching TV .
To have
1- I have called you .
2- You have chosen him .
In the case of the verb "to be" the auxiliary help the verbs to play and to watch to be conjugate in the present continuous form .
In the case of the verb "to have" the auxiliary help the verbs to call and to choose to be conjugate in the present perfect form !

1ère règle : ne pas traduire mot pour mot de l’anglais vers le français, il n’y a pas d’équivalence.

2ème règle : réfléchir aux liens entre les événements quand on parle au passé.

Quels sont les pronoms personnels en anglais ?

Comment conjuguer les verbes au présent simple en anglais ?

Le présent simple se conjugue en gardant le verbe identique. Sauf pour la 3ème personne du singulier : il faut ajouter un -s à la fin. Exemple avec le verbe sing : I sing, you sing, he/she/it sings, we sing, they sing. Vous trouverez plus de détails pour le présent simple dans ce cours.

Comment conjuguer le verbe être en anglais ?

Le verbe être se conjugue de la manière suivante au présent : I am, you are, he/she/it is, we are, they are. You correspond à “tu” et “vous” en français. Vous trouverez la conjugaison du verbe être à tous les temps dans ce cours.

Comment conjuguer le verbe avoir en anglais ?

Le verbe avoir est très facile à conjuguer. I have, you have, he/she/it has, we have, they have. Il y a uniquement la 3ème personne du singulier qui a une forme particulière.

Quelle est la différence entre le past simple et le present perfect ?

Le past simple ou prétérit s’utilise pour parler d’événements achevés qui n’ont plus aucun lien avec le présent. On l’utilise souvent avec des dates fixes ou “ago”. Le present perfect est utilisé pour les actions qui ont encore un lien avec le présent, on l’utilise souvent avec ever, never, yet, before, just, still.

Comment conjuguer au prétérit ou past simple en anglais ?

Pour les verbes réguliers il suffit d’ajouter le suffixe -ed à la fin du verbe. Exemple : touch, I touched. Pour les verbes irréguliers, tout est expliqué dans le cours.
