It is with dismay that we learned of the death of our friend Boubacar Bah, an English teacher at the Mahamat Ghandi Institute.
Very involved in the promotion of the English language in the country, the late Boubacar Bah was a volunteer and coach of his Institute as part of the interschool English competition called Guinea English Language Day "GELD" organized by the Guinea English Teachers' Club "GETC" and whose candidates won the first edition in 2022.
A jovial, empathetic and hard-working executive, our friend leaves us with a great void.
In this painful circumstance, we offer our sincere condolences to the Mahamat Ghandi Institute, to all the teachers of Guinea and to his biological family.
May the land of Guinea that you served be light on you.
Farewell Boubacar Bah rest in peace.

Since July 1, 2024, the United States Embassy in Guinea in collaboration with the Guinea English Teachers' Club "GETC" and Guinea English Language Teachers' Association "GELTA" have been organizing capacity building training for teachers of English in the regions of Kankan, Mamou, Kindia and Conakry.
To date, the 3-day training courses in Kankan and Mamou have been completed.
In Kindia, the training began this Thursday, July 11, 2024.
The last stage of the training will be held in Conakry in the coming days.
For the training, 20 English teachers are invited for each region.
Regarding the involvement of English teachers from the Boke, Labe, Nzerekore and Faranah regions in the training, negotiations are underway.
For the moment, the training is taking place without major problems.
GETC's regional Coordinators, the project coordinator and the American training experts work together perfectly for the success of the training.
The GETC Executive Office is monitoring developments in the situation very carefully.
