Education is the basis of your future.
Ida and Abdulie are determent to help their students the best way. That is about giving them good knowledge and help to have good school results but also the strength and confidence to take care of themselves.

The Jenaplan School represented by Jaap Nelissen (head education) and Ger van Wijngaarde (head materials) helped the Foundation KameroenWerkt to bring materials like laptops, school furniture and books to the Bymyra School.
One of the reason why the BymyraSchool is way ahead of most other schools in The Gambia. We hope many students will benefit from our cooperation with the Jenaplan school

Always a Step ahead...
The Bymyra Bilingual school has set up an audio-visual room that can be darkened. Students can see and discuss lessons via YouTube or can see movies that are interesting for their development.
Another achievement of the Bymyra school that distinguish the school from others in The Gambia
Recently, a lot of new things happened on the Bymyra school. Dutch teachers visited the school and gave workshops. Other Dutch helped with better internet, creating a library and an audiovisual room.
Thus Bymyra creates more and more possibilities for high quality education on its school.
And the Dutch from their side loved the warm contacts with teacher and students
In March 2024 the Bymyra Bilingual school opened her new library. Probably one of the best in the Gambia. It adds another aspect to the quality education that the students of Bymyra get.

Reading is an important contribution in the learning proces of children: it stimulates their brains, they learn new things, vist new 'worlds''.
During the week all students have reading moments on the school.
We wish them well with their reading adventures.
Students from grade 8 and 9 performed twice the self written drama 'The Poor and the Rich' Through improvisations and with the help of the Dutch drama teacher Bertie Hendriks they developed a moving story about poor, rich and the path of love.and performed it on the Cultural Day and two weeks later again
It is probably the first time in the Gambia that interesting and moving theatre was developed this way.
