Dear Parent,

It is a pleasure connecting with you once again, we hope you enjoyed your weekend
Every parent certainly wants their children to do well in school and come out in flying colors in their examinations. As much as emphasis is now being laid on the whole-child approach to education - a concept that seeks to prepare pupils to reach their full potential in all areas of life - parents still desire their kids to get good grades and succeed at school, and rightly so.
Interestingly, as a parent, you are empowered by virtue of your strong influence on your child to help them achieve academic success as well as success in other aspects of life.
What exactly can you do to help your child succeed in school beyond what they are being taught in the classroom? This week's newsletter has been prepared to help you take care of this.
Please read below and enjoy this newsletter from number 1 tips to number 3, then please click the link below to read the full article from our website. It will take you about 5 minutes to enjoy the content. https://posts.gle/fvX27a

Steps to develop our kid’s success in school

1. Encourage reading
We cannot discuss academic success without mentioning good reading habits. Reading opens up a child’s minds and expands their imagination. This could translate to academic success, especially when children read beyond their recommended textbooks.

2. Know your child’s teacher
Get to know your child’s teacher as soon as possible. Pay a visit to your child’s teacher at least twice a term to know how your child is faring at school. A call, text message or email when you are too busy to visit physically could go a long way to show that you really care.

3. Create and participate in homework time
You don’t have to do the homework for your child all you need to do is support them while trying to figure their homework out. You can help your child explain the homework questions so that they can understand them better or just cheer them up when they are on the right path.

Special Tips for Parents during Exam Our Week for their kids

Dear parent,

How was your weekend? And I Trust your day is running smoothly.
Hmmm, we are on exam week!!! We all know that the word “exams” make us anxious? We spent most late-night studying or skipping most things we need to do, wow…Please, Parents, take heart! Bymyra Bilingual School has a few things you can do to help your kids avoid last-minute cramming and a stressful exam week. Please take time to read as follows:
1. Acknowledge the exam time table
2. Prepare a place for Kids to study
3. Encourage study breaks for kids
4. Motivate, cheer the kids don’t pressure
5. Make them leaders of their own responsibilities

1. Acknowledge the exam time table
As parents we need to know when and what your kid’s exams are. You don’t have to take over your child’s schedule. Just ask a few questions, and jot down important dates so that you will be in the know. Find out if your kids are struggling in a certain class. If so, remind him or her to plan for extra study time or arrange for some tutoring.

2. Prepare a place for Kids to study
Avoid a big party or a family get-together the night before Fatous’s or Hassan’s tough math exam, Keep your environment quiet and relaxing. Instruct other family members to be aware of study hours. Those who don’t have exams shouldn’t be allowed to be a distraction for those who do have to study. Limit screen time or at least make sure the volume is down for those who don’t have exams. Basically, keep outside activities to a minimum.

3. Encourage study breaks for kids
Provide your students with nutritious snacks they can enjoy, encourage during study time breaks especially when studying for long hours, exercise is a great way to refresh the brain. Encourage your child to take a walk or go for a run, shoot some baskets or jump rope. Whatever they enjoy! Ever hear the saying: All work and no play make Jack a dull boy? Well, it’s true.

4. Motivate, cheer the kids don’t pressure
Don’t pressure the kids but encourage them to do her best, but. It’s important that children work hard for themselves, not just for their parents. They should take pride in and enjoy certain subjects (maybe not all). Nagging can be counterproductive and might add unnecessary stress. Bribes like money or special privileges can backfire, implying that the good study habits are not worthwhile on their own.

5. Make them leaders of their own responsibilities
Be prepared to let your child take responsibility for his or her actions. Remember, if your child fails or doesn’t live up to your expectations, all is not lost. It’s not your reputation that is on the line. Consider it, instead, a signal that something needs to change. You might need to have a frank discussion with your student or with the teacher.
Kids need to experience the consequence of their actions in order to learn. Some kids just need to know someone is overseeing them. Losing TV or phone privileges on school nights or weekends will help redirect them. And for some kids, a bad grade is a punishment in itself.
No matter what, it’s important for parents to step back and disengage from their own emotions. Exams are stressful for kids, and most of them want to succeed. When parents provide a loving, quiet atmosphere where schoolwork is prioritized, they give their kids the opportunity to succeed. We pray they will all succeed in all their endeavours in life and we as parents will eat all the fruits of our lalabourbor.

Kind Regards

Weekly Newsletter to our parents

Dear parent,

How was your weekend? And I Trust your day is running smoothly.
Arne Duncan, former U.S Secretary of Education once said, “There are no good schools without good principals. It just doesn’t exist. And where you have good principals, great teachers come and they stay, they work hard, and they grow.”

You’ll agree that this quote, precise as it may, captures the essence of good school leadership. But what exactly is leadership and why should parents care? Leadership is a process of social influence which maximizes the efforts of others towards the achievement of a goal - in this case, well-rounded education. In other words, a school’s leadership can go a long way in determining the success of its pupils and the influence its pupils would in turn have on their larger societies.

For example, Bymyra Bilingual School takes cognizance of school leadership. The school boasts of some of the most competent members of the teaching and non-teaching staff with talented IT-savvy teachers and a school principal who has a rich experience of cultures and differing curricula.

Bymyra Bilingual School, one of the best schools in The Gambia, on excellent school leadership, and we have the best and most experienced brains you can find in the education and technology industries.

At Bymyra Bilingual School we believe in letting ou why we provide state-of-the-art facilities and equipment so that they can achieve their full potential.

At Bymyra Bilingual School we don’t only teach academics, we likewise teach morals, and we prepare our students for leadership roles, and we believe they are the leaders of tomorrow.

We believe as a school and as parents, we can work together to achieve this goal and make our kids the best in society. Have we ever asked our kids what they really want to become tomorrow? This is where leadership starts … I bet you will hear ….” I want to become the Gambia President” “I want to become a Lawyer”, Doctor, Nurse, etc. Our kids are amazing, talented and have good future ambitions…. we pray they will all achieve their goals in life and be great leaders to move this country forward.

7 MOBILE APPS TO MONITOR WHAT YOUR KIDS DO ONLINE

Dear parent,

How was our weekend? We hope your day was off to a great start.
Did you know that you can actually monitor your child's activities online? Lot of parents are interested in knowing what goes on with their kids online; who they are talking to, how much of information they are putting out, what sort of pictures they post and so on. This is not because parents necessarily want to interfere in the affairs of their kids, but because they want to look out for them and protect them from cybercrime that abounds.

You would be amazed to learn about loads of amazing Apps with which you can track everything, yes EVERYTHING your child does on the internet.

How can I monitor what my kids do on social media? How can I know what my children do online? How can I track my child’s activities on social media?
As a parent, you are probably also asking these questions. Millions of caring parents all over the world are becoming more interested in what their kids do online.

We all know that the whole world is now webbed together making communication among people even in continents apart so seamless. Personal communication is no longer limited to landlines.

Since LG Prada launched the first mobile phone with a large capacity touchscreen in 2007, the world has not remained the same. Apple jumped on that trend and released its first iPhone the same year. A year later in 2008, the first Android was released.
With over a decade existence of smartphones, children and adults alike now have the freedom to do whatever they want at any time they want with their mobile phones.

We can take photos, stream videos, play a game, video chat, and even use social networks. Talking about social networks, just two decades ago, no one could have imagined an online network of people connected with one another at a click on the “accept” button on their mobile phones.
If you have a child above age 10, chances are that your child is among the 3.196 billion global social media active users. The challenges that come with the increasing number of young social media users are as enormous the numbers.

As a parent, the safety of your child’s social media use and online presence is of utmost importance to you. Most parents certainly are aware of the predators and bullies that are lurking online and the danger that can be done to their kids’ reputation if certain information about him/her finds its way online.
Thus, these pertinent questions arise: How can I monitor what my kids do online? How can I know what my child does on social media? How can I track my child’s activities online?

Bymyra Bilingual School, will introduce 7 mobile App with which you can easily track your kid’s digital activities without being intrusive. That way, you can set limit boundaries for them.
There are so many Apps that can help you know and track what your kids do online without you necessarily being a pain in the neck of your child.
The list below is selected based on the Apps that we feel are the most popular among parents. Please note that no matter how fantastic a mobile App is, nothing beats teaching your kids best online safety and security practices.

Bymyra Bilingual School strongly recommends that you should always verify any app before you subscribe to it. These Apps for parents to monitor their kid’s internet activities and social media is presented in no particular order. Mobile Apps to Monitor What Your Kids Do Online

Spyzie , Qustodio , mSpy, Norton Family, Secure Teen, Net Nanny Net, Teen Safe
Anyways all these apps are mostly premium apps, and might seems expensive for us, but they are worth it, the freest that we also recommend is by creating a Google minor account for your child that you can control and monitor until you are ready to hand it over to the child for full control.

We are here to serve you in giving top notch trainings, in morals and same time as educations to our students, and we pray Almighty God will continue to bless you as you conveniently pay your child's tuition you will eat the fruit of your labor. Tell your friends and families about our school, as admission is still ongoing for 20022/2023 for Day Care, Nursery, Lower & Upper basics, remember no school in the Gambia does it better than Bymyra Bilingual school.
