🌙✨ Eid Mubarak to all our students, families, and friends around the world! ✨🌙
Taqabbal Allahu Minna wa Minkum. May Allah accept our fasts, our prayers, and our efforts throughout this blessed month of Ramadan.
As we celebrate Eid al-Fitr, we want to take a moment to appreciate this incredible global family we've built together at IOU. From every corner of the world, you've shown up with dedication, sincerity, and a love for knowledge, and that is truly something worth celebrating!
May this Eid bring joy to your homes, peace to your hearts, and barakah to your lives. May Allah shower His mercy upon you and your loved ones, and may the spirit of Ramadan stay with us long after the celebrations.
Wishing you all a beautiful Eid filled with laughter, love, and gratitude.
Eid Mubarak from the entire IOU family!
Our Founder & Chancellor reminds us of the goal of fasting.
Do you know what it is?

Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him) said that riya (showing off) is the most hidden of sins and the hardest to purify from the heart. Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) explained that sincerity means the heart is free from seeking anything besides Allah's pleasure. If even a trace of people's approval enters your intention, your reward diminishes accordingly.
Many students struggle to distinguish between quantitative and qualitative methodologies and often end up mixing the two within the same research paper without realizing it.
This kind of misalignment can undermine the entire foundation of a dissertation, leading to rejected submissions, prolonged corrections, and in some cases, work that no reviewer will accept.
If this sounds familiar, this webinar is for you.
In this conversation, Prof. Aliyu Dahiru Muhammad, Convener of the upcoming webinar "Unlocking Insights: Quantitative & Qualitative Research," discusses this widespread challenge and what participants can expect.
The guest speaker, Prof. Abdullah Hassan Goron Dutse, a scholar with over 50 publications in high-impact journals, will help you properly align every stage of your research and share practical guidance on getting published.

One of the clearest teachings in Islam is that wealth is a trust. It passes through your hands not because it belongs to you unconditionally, but because you will answer for how you managed it.
Zakat is where that teaching becomes tangible. It moves belief into action. Intention into obligation.
When wealth grows, what is owed from it grows too. That is not a burden. It is the balance Allah built into the system.
IOU's Zakat calculator helps you fulfill that trust with precision. Five minutes gives you the exact amount you're accountable for.

Quality academic institutions don't just show up in classrooms. They show up where policy is being shaped.
IOU's Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academics, Prof. Dr. Aliyu Dahiru Muhammad, and Mr. Dawda Cessay of IOU Quality Assurance attended a national workshop hosted by the National Accreditation and Quality Assurance Authority (NAQAA), the statutory body responsible for regulating and accrediting higher education institutions in The Gambia, on monitoring research, innovation, and community engagement across universities in the country.
NAQAA CEO Dr. Momodou Lamin Tarro stressed that universities must prioritize research alongside teaching, with research infrastructure now forming part of the formal accreditation requirements.
National Research Fund CEO Emeritus Prof. Dr. Momodou Sallah announced a government commitment of half a million dollars to support innovative research, with applications opening soon.
This participation reflects IOU's ongoing commitment to meeting the highest standards of academic quality in The Gambia.
