CepRass proudly celebrates Dr. Lamin Dampha on the successful defense of his PhD thesis with distinction at the Lahore Business School, The University of Lahore, Pakistan.
Dr. Dampha, a Lecturer at the University of The Gambia and former Executive Director of the Center for Policy, Research and Strategic Studies (CepRass), has once again demonstrated excellence in scholarship, research, and academic leadership.
His thesis, titled “The Nexus of Financial Development, Technological Innovation, Economic Growth and Entrepreneurship: The Moderating Role of Government Support in BRICS Countries,” makes an important contribution to the fields of entrepreneurship, development, finance, and policy research.
We are especially delighted that this remarkable academic milestone was achieved under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Talat Afza, one of Pakistan’s finest scholars, a highly respected Professor of Finance, and a distinguished academic leader who has served as Vice Chancellor in universities in Pakistan.
At CepRass, we take great pride in this achievement, which reflects Dr. Dampha’s dedication, intellectual depth, and commitment to evidence-based research and policy engagement. His success is not only a personal accomplishment, but also a proud moment for CepRass, the University of The Gambia, and The Gambia as a whole.

Today marked the successful conclusion of the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Training conducted by CepRass in partnership with UNDP The Gambia. The training brought together participants from various institutions to strengthen knowledge and practical skills in M&E systems, data collection, reporting, and evidence-based decision-making.
Over the course of the training, participants engaged in insightful discussions, practical sessions, and knowledge sharing aimed at enhancing institutional capacity and promoting effective monitoring and evaluation practices in The Gambia.
CepRass extends sincere appreciation to UNDP The Gambia, facilitators, and all participants for their commitment and active participation throughout the training. Together, we continue to build stronger systems for accountability, learning, and sustainable development.
