Today we have been honored to have Hon Fatou Mass Jobe Njie as our guest speaker in our mentorship programme for our students.

Her lecture was on: “The road to success “.

Having work her way in the private sector starting from Credit Controller at Sunwing Hotel, Gamtel as Marketing Executive, Standard Chartered, Bloom Bank, Dunes Hotel and lately as Minister of Tourism & Culture.

Mrs Njie dealt with all the challenges she faced during her distinguish career advising students to be ready to face challenges in life if they want to succeed.

She stressed on the need personal development which she said is not a one-time event – it’s a lifelong journey.

Key areas of her deliberations included –

· Mindset and goal setting,

· Taking your career seriously,

· Develop essential soft skills

· Lifelong learning

· Believing in yourself

· Keep trying

· Care for yourself

· Look for growth opportunities

Her interesting lecture ended up with: SETTING UP ACHIEVABLE GOALS:

With her closing statement: “Successful people know that they need to start by having attainable goals to achieve. These goals are not necessarily easy to reach, but by having something to aim for, you will be better able to move forward and overcome obstacle.

Hon Fatou Mass Jobe Njie is true professional who is admired by all tourism professionals in the tourism sector and the banking sector.

Join us in congratulating the Institute of Travel and Tourism awardees 2025 for their services to the tourism Industry . Each year we recognize 6 personalities who have contributed one way or the other to the development of our industry . This years awardees are Aji Ramou Nyang of Duga Jakk Fashion one of the pioneers of the BB Craft market , Alhagi Gibba , Pioneer Bengdula supervisors from 1970 , Aji Jainaba Gaye , Accounts Clerk Senegambia from the late 1970s now proprietor of Dalab Residence , Alkalo , Ambassador At Large Pa Omar Faal , Among the first staff of Berthel Hardings and later established Damel Travels . Kantong Jaiteh , Staff of wing Afric in late 70 s and now as operations Manager Discovery Tours and last not the least Sami Tamim . Investor and proprietor of Palma Rima Hotel and was also involve in the airline busness in The Gambia .
