Once upon a time......

The poem that won me a Drama Competition as a playwright . Thanks to the timely improvisation Ajilatou Saho, The lead role played by Haruna Dibba and The Extremely melodious voice of Phaatema Sandeng.
the excerpt that was read out by Sandeng reads thus
Oh! mama Africa,
The cries of your people groaning under the yokes of stigma and discrimination are getting louder and louder
Hear their cries
Listen to their agonies
the distress of a people in despair
Listen to the voice of your people in search of deliverance
The naked moon weeps,
The clouds numerous twinkling eyes slumber in pain
Thick black Grey clouds drift lazily across the skies
Dragging the tears and cries of your people
This day is important not because it is one of a kind
It is important because we need it
Sons and Daughters of mother Africa
Don't you want to stop the suffering your motherland?
Allow love to pe*****te your hearts and make a difference in the lives of the victims of stigma and discrimination.

So as this nusrat senior secondary school journey comes to a bitter sweet end, a thing left undiscovered is our destination. Today might be a beginning of new opportunities, but it's certainly and thankfully not the beginning of the right and strength to seize them. And tomorrow might be a beginning of new communities, but it's not the beginning of a new life. Take a good look right now because you may never sit or even look at the person sitting to your left or right, but the are great reasons for this- promising careers, relationship and service opportunities will pull us into different directions and although that separation might seem sad or even scary as we sit so closely here today. It is for the purpose of leaving and serving others that we arrived here together in the first place. Yes! this might our last day sitting together, but I hope it is our first try at a journey that will nonetheless result in our paths crossing again. And no matter where we go from here, one thing is for sure, we will always be nusratarians. And to remind you of something very unique about us, I sing for you the last hymn of our school SONG " LEARNING IS NOT EASY, BUT NUSRATARIANS HARDLY GIVE UP. MAY ALLAH GUIDE US ALL. MAY HE INCREASE IN KNOWLEDGE. IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE OUR GOAL, FOR WE ARE THE FUTURE LEADERS. OH YES WE ARE STUDENTS, WE ARE STUDENTS OF NUSRAT SCHOOL. OH YES WE ARE STUDENTS, WE ARE STUDENTS OF NUSRAT SCHOOL" although you might not have realized it in your time here, it is our identity as nusratarians that binds us together. I urge each of you as you continue to pursue our dreams not to erase this nusrathood you have carved into yourselves and marked on your school. So as you face the realities of this world, ........................ believe me by the time I finished my lines all eyes were already in tears.
